Hi all,
Just introducing myself. I’m not new to Linux, started in 1996 when I installed RedHat on an old PC, when you had to compile your own kernels to get different hardware to work. Which I did without knowing what I was doing (to the great pleasure of my then girlfriend, as I quite often borked the system in my feeble attempts to get things working). Used Redhat for a couple of years, until I decided to give Debian a try and used it happily for a long time. Fell off the Linux wagon around 2005 as I mostly needed to use software only available on Windows/Mac. Came back around 10 years ago and have been using Kubuntu since then. Which was fine, but I began to grow tired of snaps and other inconveniences and wanted to try something else than the debian/ubuntu derivatives. Thought about going full circle and go for Fedora, but CachyOS just seemed more exciting. I’ve been using it since Easter, dual booting with Windows (which I rarely use), I expected some problems as it is a rolling release and me not being used to the Arch ecosystem. But frankly, it’s just been smooth sailing, no problems at all and I’m absolutely loving it. Thank you to the devs for all your excellent work!
Well good to have you in our community . Hope you can enjoy cachy os .
