SIX PEOPLE WERE taken to hospital after a fire destroyed a Dublin home overnight.
Gardaí, Dublin Fire Brigade and emergency services attended the scene in the early hours of Thursday morning.
It’s understood that children were among those taken to hospital from the house in west Finglas, Dublin 11.
The fire is understood to have severely damaged the property while the surrounding houses were not impacted.
Three fire engines, an emergency tender, and district officer attended the scene after being called shortly before 2am on Thursday.
All people were out of the house upon their arrival and breathing apparatus crews carried out a search of the property.
The fire was declared as being under control shortly before 2.30am.
An Garda Síochána, ESB Networks and Gas Networks Ireland also assisted at the scene.
The incident was declared closed at 4.47am on Thursday morning.
It’s not yet known what caused the fire.
It’s understood that a member of Dublin City Council has been in contact with the family about alternative housing.
