THE GOOD WEATHER is making a comeback just in time for the weekend.
Met Éireann forecasts temperatures could reach the mid-20s in many areas.
Saturday will be a generally dry and bright day with long sunny spells. However, in Ulster and north Connacht, there is a chance of a few showers.
The highest temperatures expected across the country are 16 to 20 degrees, warmest in the east, with light to moderate winds.
Saturday night is set to be dry, with patches of mist and fog. Temperatures will go down to between 6 and 11 degrees.
If you’re making outdoor plans, Sunday will be most suitable. The rest of the weekend will bring plenty of dry weather, before next week’s showers.
The mist and fog of Saturday night will clear for Sunday morning. A dry day with sunny spells is expected.
Temperatures could reach highs of 17 to 23 degrees. It’ll be coolest along eastern coasts due to a light easterly breeze.
Sunday night will bring a few light showers near northern coasts, but otherwise it’ll be dry and mild with the lowest temperatures being 11 to 14 degrees.
A heat dome, like the one seen at the end of May, could re-emerge in Europe next week.
While Ireland likely won’t experience severe heat, parts of Spain and France could see temperatures reach the high 30s, or possibly low 40s.
Last month’s heat wave was brought by a so-called “heat dome” of warm air from northern Africa trapped under a high-pressure system over the continent. It topped off the third-warmest spring ever recorded in Ireland.
