THE WEEKEND IS kicking off – but what should you watch?
We’ve taken a look through what’s on offer and picked out series and movies that you can check out over the next three days on streaming and the telly.
Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness
Life, Larry, And The Pursuit Of Unhappiness HBO Max
HBO Max
Been missing Larry David? Here comes an intriguing new limited series written and produced by him and Jeff Schaffer, and executive produced by Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Ethan Lewis, and Vinnie Malhotra for Higher Ground. The logline for this is: “President and Mrs. Obama wanted to honour America’s 250th anniversary and celebrate the unique history of our nation on this special occasion.” Essentially, this is a sketch comedy where David and the Obamas go head-to-head, and we can also expect guest stars like Jerry Seinfeld to make an appearance.
Streaming on HBO Max from Saturday.
Would You Rather: Decide to Survive
Amazon Prime Video UK & IE / YouTube
We’ve all played Would You Rather, but this comedy show takes it to another level. Two teams of ‘digital personalities’ (hmm) compete to win first pick of Would You Rather dilemmas, in a show hosted by Romesh Ranganathan. Sounds entertaining if ridiculous.
Streaming on Prime Video.

As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, the new five-part documentary series The American Experiment reexamines the nation’s founding. To do so, it gathers together experts including former vice presidents and cabinet officials, current and former members of Congress, a former Supreme Court justice, leading historians and a lot more. A timely look at American democracy.
Streaming on Netflix.
Little Brother
John Cena as Rudd, Eric Andre as Marcus in Little Brother. Clifton Prescod / Netflix

If it’s a comedy you’re after, especially one that’s quirky and perhaps a little puerile at times, try this. John Cena stars as a celebrity real estate agent who is reunited with his former ‘little brother’ from a Big Brother-Little Brother scheme, who’s played by the always entertaining and chaotic Eric André.
Streaming on Netflix
Museum of Me
Mary McEvoy and Dermot Whelan RTÉ
RTÉ
In this series, Mary McEvoy is the latest Irish celeb to curate a one-night-only exhibition of personal objects which tell the story of her life and career. She’s joined by Dermot Whelan, who presents the show.
Airing Sunday at 8.30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
