A MAN HAS died in a road crash in Pallasgreen, Co Limerick with a number of other people injured – gardaí have appealed to people to not circulate images of the scene on social media.
The two car collision happened at Pullagh near the small east Limerick village shortly before 10am last night.
A garda spokesperson appealed for people to not share the images and video from the scene.
“An Garda Síochána is aware that images and video footage related to this incident are circulating on social media and messaging platforms. We are appealing to anyone who receives this content to refrain from sharing or reposting it further,” the statement said.
A garda spokesman said the man who died was alone in his car and was aged in his 40s – he was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His body has been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The coroner has been notified.
“A female driver, aged in her 50s, was conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries.
“A female passenger, aged in her teens, was conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries.
“A female passenger, aged in her 20s, and a male juvenile passenger, aged in his teens, were conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of non-life threatening injuries,” the statement said.
The road was closed today for a garda Forensic Collision Investigator examination.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone who witnessed the crash to make contact with them, particularly people travelling in the area between 9.30pm and 10pm last night.
