TODAY IS TO be warm and dry with temperature highs of 18 to 24C, and “long spells of sunshine”.
Met Éireann has forecast that there is a chance of light rain this evening near the northwestern coasts, but temperatures will remain high at night with lows of between 11 and 15C.
Monday is to be hot and humid, with temperatures reaching between 20 and 27C, and temperatures are set to soar into next week.
Rebecca Cantwell, from the forecaster, said that temperatures look set to rise “day on day” as “high pressure draws up a continental air mass over Ireland with temperatures rising into the high 20s and possibly reaching 30 degrees in some areas on Thursday”.
Met Éireann is advising that UV levels will be moderate to high, while pollen levels will be “very high over the coming days”.

The Stoneybatter Festival is taking place with the support of Dublin City Council – several streets in the area are closed to traffic and there’s a mixture of live music, food stalls, fitness activities and even flash tattoos on offer. Check out the details here.
Country music star Zach Bryan is performing in Cork at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, so there will be thousands of people around the city, with the concert starting at 5pm. There are a few different after-party events taking place too, if you missed out on a ticket but still want to catch some of the buzz, including at the Pavilion Bar.
The race for the remaining All-Ireland football quarter-final places is on today, with Dublin hosting Donegal at Croke Park (1.15pm throw-in).
There are a number of events on in different areas to celebrate the Summer Solstice. In Salthill, Galway, swimmers took part in a ‘dip at dawn’ in aid of the Galway Simon Community.
In Kenmare there is a whole day festival happening to mark the Solstice, with kids activities, international food stalls and live music. See the details here.
In Dún Laoghaire the Royal Irish Yacht Club’s 195th Anniversary Classic Regatta continues, with racing visible from the harbour and seafront throughout the day.
No doubt, thousands of people will simply be hitting the beach – it’s worth bearing in mind that the official advice is to only swim in lifeguarded spots.
