A MAN HAS been arrested on an extradition warrant in connection with the murder of Robbie Lawlor in 2020.
Lawlor was a suspect in the murder of teenager Keane Mulready Woods who was killed in January 2020.
He was shot dead outside a house in north Belfast in April 2020 – it is believed he was targeted by gunmen who had travelled across the border.
The investigation has been led by the PSNI, but there is significant garda involvement also.
The arrested man this morning is from the west of Ireland originally.
A Garda statement said:
“The Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (GNBCI) of An Garda Síochána has been involved in a joint investigation with the Police Service of Northern Ireland into the murder of Robbie Lawlor on 4 April 2020.
“This morning investigating Gardaí from the GNBCI’s Extradition Team arrested a male (aged in his 40s) in Dublin on foot of a Trade and Cooperation Agreement extradition warrant to extradite the male to Northern Ireland to be charged in connection with the investigation.
“The male is currently detained and will appear before the High Court at the Criminal Courts of Justice (Court No. 14) today.”
