Accused consented to being further remanded in custody until July 7

The DPP has decided 10 burglary charges — related mainly to business premises in Ballincollig — faced by a 28-year-old man should be dealt with at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.
Sergeant Aisling Murphy said the Director of Public Prosecutions had directed trial on indictment. The defendant can also enter a signed plea of guilty at Cork District Court for sentencing at the circuit court.
Lukasz Bogacz, of Glincool Crescent, Ballincollig, Co Cork, appeared by video link from prison.
Judge Valerie Corcoran explained to him: “For reasons beyond our control there is no legal aid representative available to you today.

“I am going to order disclosure [of prosecution evidence] to you if you want to seek a book of evidence or sign a plea of guilty.”
The judge explained in the circumstances she could remand him in custody without his consent for two weeks, but said she would prefer if there was consent from him. The accused indicated he consented to that remand in custody.
The case was then put back until July 7.
It is alleged he carried out 10 burglaries across eight different non-residential premises in Ballincollig around this time last year, namely Visage at Times Square, Trade House Central, Star Turkish Barbers, ATP Fitness, Kiasim Barbers, Urata Designs, Ballincollig GAA and the Medical Centre.
