Significant development momentum in Acre’s education system: With the opening of the upcoming school year, three new schools will be inaugurated in the city, as part of the municipality’s vision to place education at the top of its priorities and to develop advanced learning infrastructure.

This initiative reflects a long-term investment in the city’s students, teaching staff, and the community as a whole, establishing Acre as a city that views education as a central engine for its future growth.

In the Kerem HaOmanim neighborhood, a new advanced school will open, accommodating students from the existing Weizmann and HaTomer schools, which will be merged into a single framework. The new building has been designed according to high architectural and pedagogical standards and will include innovative learning spaces, advanced classrooms, and an educational environment that encourages excellence, creativity, and personal development.

Currently, construction of a new school for the city’s Arab community students is nearing completion on Derech HaArbaa Street. The school will address overcrowding in existing schools and will feature fully equipped classrooms, technological learning spaces, and advanced educational infrastructure, aiming to provide students with a high-quality learning environment.

Another significant development is taking place in the field of special education. Within the HaTomer school building, a dedicated institution will be established to provide optimal educational and therapeutic support for the city’s special education children. For the first time, most special education students will be accommodated within Acre itself, eliminating the need for placement in external frameworks, thereby allowing learning in a supportive, community-based environment close to home.

Acre’s Mayor, Amichai Ben Shlush: "Acre is leading an educational revolution that is transforming the city. The opening of three new schools reflects the city’s resilience and our responsibility toward the next generation. We have invested significant resources to ensure that every child in Acre, from all sectors and populations, receives the best conditions for success. Bringing the majority of special education children into local frameworks is a step of social justice, community sensitivity, and quality service for our residents."

The Acre Municipality will accompany the educational staff and parents throughout the transition and preparation process and will work to ensure the optimal integration of students into the new institutions with the start of the upcoming school year.
