It's happening! We are absolutely pumped that we're just about two weeks away from Search Central Live Deep Dive Europe 2026! From September 30 to October 2, 2026, the Google Search Central team is heading to the gorgeous city of Barcelona, Spain for three days of deep technical exploration, networking, and collaboration.
We just finalized the agenda, and while a large chunk of the content is going to be the same as last year's Bangkok event (the underlying foundation of Search isn't changing THAT much year over year), we are also bringing brand new, mostly AI focused topics. Why? A "few" people said they're interested in AI; weird, but OK :)
But let's talk about the real stars of the event: our community speakers.
Apart from Google speakers, we are once again handing the mic over to an incredible lineup of experts from across the industry. Building on last year, our community presentations will be delivered in two distinct formats to ensure every speaker can share their work in the way that suits their topics best.
What is a Lightning Talk vs. a Poster Session?
If you've attended previous Search Central Live events, you're likely familiar with some of these formats, but here is a quick refresher:
- Lightning Talks: These are fast, high-energy, 7-minute presentations delivered from the main stage. The speaker focuses on a highly specific case study, technical solution, or core learning, using a small number of slides. It's quick, punchy, and keeps the energy in the room at a maximum. It's designed to spark ideas and kick off conversations that continue organically in the hallway and throughout the days.
- Poster Sessions: If you're looking for a dedicated room to dig deeper rather than catching someone on the run, this is where the magic happens. Popularized in the academic and scientific conference world, poster sessions are a vibrant, interactive marketplace of ideas. Instead of delivering a slideshow on stage, presenters display their findings on large physical posters (which we print for them!). During the session, attendees browse the poster hall at their own pace, stopping to engage in deep 1:1 or small-group discussions directly with the presenter for about 40 minutes. It's the ultimate format for complex technical diagrams, troubleshooting workflows, professional development insights, and meaningful networking. We've had a BLAST with this format in Bangkok, and we're committed to have the same experience this year also!
