Alex Hunter details his top make the cut parlay on DraftKings Sportsbook for the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club.
The PGA TOUR is hosting the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club (par 70, 7,289 yards, bentgrass greens) in Fort Worth, Texas. Colonial has been the site of the Charles Schwab Challenge since its inception in 1946. This week, there will be 133 golfers competing and a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.
Below, I have featured a cut parlay to consider for the Charles Schwab Challenge.
Kim has finished T24th and T44th in his two starts at Colonial, and he has only failed to make the cut once in his last 14 solo starts. His last two times out, Kim has finished T6th at the Myrtle Beach Classic and T54th at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson. Kim struck the ball at a very high level at both these events, finishing both tournaments in the top-10 in SG APP. The three-time PGA TOUR winner ranks fourth in SG APP when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds and Kim’s impressive iron play should result in him safely making the cut at Colonial. Over the last five years, four of the winners at this par 70 have finished the event top-12 in SG APP.
Finau has made 8-of-9 cuts at Colonial with seven finishes inside the top-30. The veteran finished runner-up here in 2019 and he ranks fifth among this field in strokes gained per round at Colonial. In general, Finau has been stellar in the state of Texas. The 36-year-old won the 2022 Houston Open and he ranks sixth among this field in strokes gained per round at courses in the Lone Star State. For his career, Finau has made 26-of-30 cuts in Texas. Just last week at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Finau finished T6th, including an 8-under 63 in the second round. This is one shot shy of his career low, which also came in the Lone Star State with an 8-under 62 at the Houston Open in 2024. Finau’s love for competing in Texas is undeniable and he should be more favorited than -200 to make the cut this week.
Clanton has never competed at Colonial before, but he has the iron play to succeed at this second-shot course and he should make the cut in his first attempt at the par 70. Clanton ranks 21st in SG APP this season and he is coming off a T31st finish at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson last week, in which he gained strokes on approach and with his putter. Clanton is 3-for-3 in made cuts in Texas this season and he has only missed one cut in his last seven starts.
