Guard

Stud

Jamal Murray, Denver Nuggets at Minnesota Timberwolves ($9,000)

Murray has had a decent series, putting up at least 40 FPTS in four of the five games with a high of 52.2 FPTS. He had one bad game in which he shot 29.4% from the field and ended with 25.2 FPTS, but he has yet to have that holy moly game that he pulls out of the hat from time to time. Will he have it this game? I have no idea but it’s well within the range of outcomes. Murray is garnering a usage rate of around 31% this series while attempting 22.4 shots a game. With the Nuggets on the brink of elimination and the notion of getting back home for a Game 7 if they win on Thursday against a hobbled Minnesota squad, this could get interesting.

Other Options: Jaylen Brown ($8,800), Tyrese Maxey ($8,500), Jalen Brunson ($8,200), Ayo Dosunmu ($6,600)

Value

Terrence Shannon Jr., Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Denver Nuggets ($3,300)

Shannon did not play a minute in the first three games of the series. Due to injuries to Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo, he received seven and 14 minutes over the last two contests, finishing with 3.5 and 16.8 FPTS. He’s going to play in this one. It’s just a matter of how much. The defense is a concern, but due to his athleticism and scoring prowess, there’s a chance he plays significant minutes and puts up over 20 FPTS.

Other Options: Quentin Grimes ($4,200), Jose Alvarado ($3,100)

Forward

Stud

Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics at Philadelphia 76ers ($9,500)

I’ve been Team Towns the last few games because I thought he would score in the same range as Tatum at $1,000 cheaper. And that’s how things played out. Bing Bong. But I’m getting off the train here and paying for Tatum’s car service. Tatum has been as safe as a T-Bill, putting up over 50 FPTS in four of the five games this series. The one “miss” was 45.8 FPTS. He’s contributing in everything but blocks and garnering a usage rate around 30 percent. Philadelphia has no answer for him due to the surrounding talent and scheme he plays in.

Other Options: Jaylen Brown ($8,800), Karl-Anthony Towns ($8,700), Julius Randle ($7,800), Paul George ($6,700), OG Anunoby ($6,500)

Value

Cameron Johnson, Denver Nuggets at Minnesota Timberwolves ($4,800)

Johnson had a rough regular season and an uninspiring start to this series, scoring below 20 FPTS in the first four games while playing 28 minutes a game. On Monday, Johnson played 36 minutes and finished with 18 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals, good for 39.5 FPTS. That’s what Denver fans were envisioning when Johnson was brought into the mix. Can we trust a replication of that performance? I don’t trust it at all, but his shooting is needed while the versatility on defense is a plus, so I’m expecting a ton of playing time once again.

Other Options: Spencer Jones ($4,100), Terrence Shannon Jr. ($3,300)

Center

Stud

Joel Embiid, Philadelphia 76ers vs. Boston Celtics ($8,600)

Normally, this is an automatic writeup for Nikola Jokic. Please forgive me Father for I am about to sin, but I think the combo of Embiid and Tatum is better than Jokic and a $5,400 player. Embiid missed seven games before returning for Game 4 of this series. He played 34 minutes and garnered a 39.6% usage rate, finishing with 52 FPTS. He followed that up with 50.5 FPTS in Game 5. Embiid is listed as probable for Game 6, so I’m going to assume that he’s playing and putting up another 50-burger.

Other Options: Nikola Jokic ($12,700), Karl-Anthony Towns ($8,700)

Value

Neemias Queta, Boston Celtics at Philadelphia 76ers ($4,800)

It’s been an interesting series for Queta and the Celtics. Boston has won by 32 points twice and Queta played only 15 and 17 minutes in those contests. In two losses of 16 and 14 points, in which Boston scored 97 points in both games, Queta played 28 and 16 minutes. In the one “close” game with an eight-point spread, Queta received 13 minutes. Shrug. Over the last two games, Queta finished with 22.5 and 27 FPTS. Both of those had Embiid playing. Coincidence? I think not. His size will be needed against Embiid.

Other Options: Onyeka Okongwu ($5,900)
