Alex Hunter provides his top golf bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for the 2026 Truist Championship at Quail Hollow Club.
Quail Hollow Club (par 71, 7,583 yards, Bermuda/POA trivialis greens) in Charlotte, North Carolina, will host the Truist Championship. Quail Hollow has hosted a PGA event nearly every year since 2003, most recently with the PGA Championship last season, which was won by Scottie Scheffler (-11). The Truist Championship is the sixth of eight Signature Events this season and as such, there will be 72 golfers competing for a $20 million purse and no cut.
Below, I have featured my two favorite bets for the Truist Championship on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Spaun holds the edge in both course history and current form over Lee. Spaun has finished T18th, T27th and T37th in his three starts at Quail Hollow, whereas Lee missed the cut by two strokes in his lone attempt at the par 71, which came at last year’s PGA Championship.
Both Spaun and Lee competed at last week’s Cadillac Championship, finishing T14th and T18th, respectively. While they finished close on the leaderboard, Spaun struck the ball much better than Lee. Spaun finished 17th in SG APP at the Blue Monster while Lee finished 56th of the 72-man field. This has been the trend this season, as Spaun ranks eighth on the PGA TOUR in SG APP while Lee ranks 62nd.
Both these players’ second-to-last starts came at the RBC Heritage. Spaun bested Lee that week as well, finishing T25th and T60th, respectively. All signs are pointing towards Spaun outperforming Lee again this week, so Spaun is a great bet to win this matchup at these -104 odds.
Smalley has finished T18th and T28th in his two starts at Quail Hollow, and the Duke product is on a roll right now. In his last three starts, Smalley has finished T14th at the Valero Texas Open, runner-up at the team-based Zurich Classic with Hayden Springer as his partner, and T7th at the Cadillac Championship last week.
At the Blue Monster, Smalley began the week with a 7-under 65 in the first round and ranked fourth for the event in SG APP, which is impressive considering the elite field at the Signature Event. Smalley has gained strokes on approach in six straight starts and ranks eighth in SG APP when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds.
Each of the last five winners at Quail Hollow have finished the tournament top-12 in SG APP, so Smalley’s game sets up well for this venue. Another great sign for this week is that 31.3% of the approach shots at Quail Hollow in the last five tournaments here have come from 200+ yards out. Smalley ranks 18th in proximity to the hole on 200+ yard approach shots this season and he should stay hot this week with his fourth straight top-20 finish.
