This game means a lot more to one team compared to the other, but I’m still going with an Aston Villa win on Sunday. Villa currently sit in fifth place, the final spot for Champions League football next season. The good news is, they have an eight point cushion over the team chasing them in sixth position, Brighton. The Villans should comfortably finish in the top five with only four games remaining.

Tottenham on the other hand, are fighting for their lives. They did get their first win of 2026 in the Premier League last week against Wolves, but everyone else in the relegation battle also won so they remain in the bottom three. Every game for Spurs is a must-win for the remainder of the season.

Despite the desperation on one side and not the other, Aston Villa are a much better team and they’re at home. Only three teams have collected more home points than the Villans this season. These teams have already met twice this season, once in the FA Cup and once in the league. On both occasions, Aston Villa came out 2-1 victors. That’s now four straight wins against Tottenham for Villa.

Tottenham did get back in the win column, but that was a scrappy 1-0 victory against already-relegated Wolves. Aston Villa are on a different level right now, and they will collect the three points in this one to put Spurs in a very difficult position.
