It’s a new month and you know what that means — new sneaker drops! Jordan Brand brings back an iconic OG colorway of the Air Jordan 1 in a summer-ready lowtop, New Balance is ready to celebrate Grey Days and the month will close with some (unofficial) acknowledgement of the OTC with the “Bloodline” Air Jordan 12.
Here’s your playbook for the top sneakers dropping this month.
The Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Banned” is not an original low top colorway of the Air Jordan 1 from 1985, but rather is inspired by one of the most famous OG colorways of all time and its equally famous marketing campaign that claimed while the NBA could try to keep the shoe out of the game, they couldn’t stop you from buying them. The “Banned” 1 Lows feature a full-grain leather upper rendered in Varsity Red and black and pay tribute to the iconic AJ1 commercial in several ways. That includes a red X on the back heel tab in place of the Wings logo, the 10.18.84 “banned” date on the sockliner and the script from the commercial on the insoles.
