Alex Hunter details his top Jalen Duren player prop for Sunday’s NBA playoff game between the Pistons and Magic.
The Pistons and Magic face off in a win-or-go-home Game 7 in Detroit on Sunday. On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Pistons are favored by 8.5 points, and this game carries a total of O/U 201.5 points.
Let’s dive into my favorite Jalen Duren player prop for Sunday’s contest.
Duren has been a shell of himself in this series against the Magic. After averaging a career-high 19.8 PPG in the regular season, the center is averaging just 9.8 PPG in this best-of-seven. Not once in the first six games of this series has Duren topped 12.5 points.
The big man is shooting 52% from the field, but Duren hasn’t been the aggressive player we saw in the regular season, and as a result, his usage has seen a big decline. Duren averaged a 23.6% usage rate in the regular season, but he is garnering just a 16.4% rate this postseason.
Wendell Carter Jr. has made it very difficult for Duren to get comfortable, and it’s hard to imagine that Duren all of a sudden flips a switch in his first career Game 7 on Sunday. The Magic should continue to bother Duren, and backing the big man for under 12.5 points is smart.
