Alex Hunter details his best NBA player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Tuesday’s Game 5 between the Thunder and Spurs.
Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals between the Thunder and Spurs will be played in Oklahoma City on Tuesday. On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Thunder are favored by 4.5 points and this game carries a total of 216.5 points.
Let’s dive into three of my favorite player prop bets for Tuesday’s contest.
This line is just too low for Vassell. The wing is averaging 13.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game this postseason while shooting 43% from the field and handling a 16.7% usage rate. Vassell is logging 34.2 minutes per game, which is a big jump from the 30.5 he averaged in the regular season.
In this series vs. the Thunder, Vassell has cleared 20.5 PRA in each of the first four games, including two efforts of at least 27 PRA. The 25-year-old should log 35-40 minutes in tonight’s pivotal Game 5 and have no trouble exceeding 20.5 PRA.
Harper thrived with De’Aaron Fox (ankle) sidelined, but with the guard healthy again, Harper’s role has diminished. With Fox active for the last two, Harper has scored six points in 17 minutes in Game 3 and seven points in 20 minutes in Game 4. Meanwhile, Fox has logged 31 minutes in each tilt.
The Spurs should continue to rely on Fox tonight and Harper should see no more than 20 minutes off the bench, resulting in another low scoring outing for the 20-year-old. In the six games Harper and Fox have played together vs. the Thunder this season, Harper has fallen short of 9.5 points four times.
With the Spurs running away with a 21-point win in Game 4, Caruso went scoreless in 14 minutes of work. Back in Oklahoma City for Game 5, we should see a much more competitive affair and Caruso should get back to seeing 20-25 minutes off the bench, especially with Ajay Mitchell (calf) out and Jalen Williams (hamstring) questionable.
Before the stinker in Game 4, Caruso had received at least 21 minutes in four straight and he had knocked down at least three treys in each of these contests. In Game 1 of this series vs. the Spurs, Caruso went nuts from deep, hitting 8-of-14 three-pointers. The veteran is shooting 47% from beyond the arc during these playoffs and it’s hard not to love Caruso for over 1.5 made treys at this plus-money price.
