Garion Thorne details his top home run props for tonight’s slate, including bets for Kody Clemens, Juan Soto and Seiya Suzuki.
Home runs. Long balls. Bleacher reachers. Whatever you want to call them, people love watching and betting on home run props during baseball games. So much so, we’ve got a whole article dedicated to just that.
Here are my top three home run prop picks on DraftKings Sportsbook for today’s full 15-game slate: Kody Clemens, Juan Soto and Seiya Suzuki.
Let’s break them down.
Clemens might not be a household name — unless you’re referring to him as “Roger’s son” in conversations — but the utility man can certainly barrel a baseball. After breaking out for a career-high 19 home runs across 348 at-bats in 2025, Clemens’ power has not diminished in 2026. The 29-year-old might only have three long balls in his 94 plate appearances, yet a 92nd percentile barrel rate (16.4%) suggests that a few more homers are on the horizon for Clemens. He just needs some good matchups against a couple vulnerable RHPs. Or maybe even a great one.
On Wednesday, Miles Mikolas will take the mound for the Nationals. He will probably start, though Washington has sometimes tried to soften his appearances this season with an opener. It’s not difficult to see why. Mikolas owns an 8.23 ERA over his 27.1 innings of work, the direct result of surrendering 2.63 opponent home runs per nine and a gargantuan 23.5% HR/FB ratio. The combination of a 10th percentile whiff rate (17.9%) and a 12th percentile opponent barrel rate (12.6%) doesn’t help much, either. I legitimately don’t know how much longer the Nationals are going to let the 37-year-old pitch, so take advantage while we all still can.
I know how important the direction of the wind is at Wrigley, but these odds seem like a bit of an overreaction to a breeze.
I mean, Seiya Suzuki is almost 7/1 to hit a home run tonight? Do you know how red-hot this dude is at the moment? Suzuki missed some time at the beginning of the season after suffering an injury in the WBC. However, it hasn’t taken long for the former NPB star to re-find his footing. Since April 21, Suzuki is slashing .360/.431/.740 with six home runs and a 215 wRC+ in 58 plate appearances. For 2026 as a whole, Suzuki’s .386 expected wOBA ranks in the 91st percentile of the league.
There’s also the presence of Brady Singer, who has simply been a shell of himself so far this season. The RHP enters Wednesday’s action in possession of a 5.57 ERA and a 6.17 xERA. He’s striking out a career-low 13.1% of the batters he’s faced and he’s giving up a career-high 1.95 opponent home runs per nine. In fact, Singer’s conceded multiple long balls in each of his past two starts. I don’t love his chances at slowing down Suzuki’s production.
I had Soto in my home run picks on Tuesday, then the Mets’ game against the Rockies got rained (snowed?) out. Considering tonight will be the same expected pitching matchup, why deviate from the plan? Here’s what I had to say yesterday:
“Just about everything that can go wrong, has gone wrong for the Mets so far in 2026. However, Juan Soto’s been his usual self when he’s been available. Across 86 plate appearances, the former All-Star is slashing .301/.407/.479 with a 99th percentile barrel rate (24.1%) and a 98th percentile expected slugging rate (.625). This is what known as the “Mike Trout Rule” in baseball circles. One man does not make a whole team. Even Soto’s exploits can not save New York’s second-favorite baseball club.
Fortunately, we don’t need Soto to be a savior. We just need him to hit a home run off Michael Lorenzen on Tuesday night. That’s much easier, I swear. Lorenzen’s three starts at Coors Field have not gone well this season, as the veteran RHP is pitching to an 8.56 ERA in the state of Colorado. Lorenzen has also had his issues with opposing LHBs. Like, a lot of issues. The 78 lefties that have faced Lorenzen in 2026 have combined to hit .417 with a .750 slugging percentage and a .512 wOBA.”
I’ll stick by it. Maybe think about a sprinkle on Brett Baty (+650), too.
