Following a strong penultimate episode that sent home fan favorite Rick Devens and legend Cirie Fields, Survivor 50 returned Wednesday night with the final installment of the show’s most anticipated season yet. Including spoilers for who was voted out and who ultimately won the $2 million prize, let’s break down the Survivor 50 finale: Reverse the Curse.

I Feel Like TWO Million Bucks

After the Cirie vote, Tiffany wasn’t having any part of the rest of the tribe back at camp. Meanwhile, a Rizo interview revealed he was feeling quite confident about pulling off the move, already mentally setting the stage for his avenue to the money.

The following morning, Aubry acknowledged the target growing on her back. Jonathan plotted his own path to the finale, aiming to take Rizo and Joe with him.

The penultimate immunity challenge of the season was a monster, both in size and implications. Jonathan came out of the gates hot, let the lead slip a little bit before ultimately beating out Tiffany by a split second to secure immunity and a trip to the final four.

After the challenge, Tiff went to work petitioning for an Aubry blindside. She made virtually no progress with Rizo, but at least got Jonathan and Joe to hear her out. At the subsequent tribal, Tiffany’s efforts came up short, as she was voted out and became the tenth member of the jury.

Three Players, 11 Votes

After surviving another vote, Aubry understood the assignment. Win the challenge or face either a certain elimination via vote or a daunting fire-making matchup.

The final immunity challenged was revealed to be the iconic simmotion. With her back against the wall, Aubry won for the first time this season, guaranteeing herself a spot in the final tribal council.

To no one’s surprise, Aubry guaranteed Joe a spot alongside her in the final three, sending Rizo and Jonathan to a fire-making competition. Jonathan is about the scariest person you could imagine to go against on this stage, as he can ignite a blaze in about five seconds. Rizo’s underdog story… came up just short. He was defeated via fire-making showdown in the second consecutive season, sending Jonathan to the final three.

At the final tribal council, Jonathan’s supporters were eager to defend him right away. He and Aubry then dueled as expected to take credit for the Ozzy blindside. Most of this debate was actually the jury going back and forth within itself, trying to pull voters to either side between Bracco and Young. While Jonathan’s allies were the loudest, the tide seemed to settle behind Aubry after she painted her picture as the ultimate underdog in a redemption story.

At the live finale, Jeff read the votes and confirmed what many fans were expecting, crowning Aubry Bracco the winner of Survivor 50!
