Check out some of the best Shai Gilgeous-Alexander player prop bets for Thunder vs. Spurs Game 5 in the NBA Playoffs’ Western Conference Finals.
After four games, the Western Conference Finals are once again a tied-up series. The Oklahoma City Thunder take their home court tonight for what now becomes a best-of-three matchup against the San Antonio Spurs, but Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will have to play better if he’s to carry his team to victory. Now, the back-to-back MVP must shoulder a massive load heading into this critical juncture.
Here are the top Shai Gilgeous-Alexander prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Tuesday’s Thunder vs. Spurs Game 5 in the Western Conference Finals.
Now the back-to-back MVP of the league, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander posted another whopping stat line in the regular season. His numbers included 31.1 points and 6.6 assists per game on a career-best 55.3% FG% to go along with a respectable 38.6% 3P%. He also averaged 4.3 rebounds with 1.4 steals a night as well, bringing all-around production that powered the Thunder to the top seed in a tough Western Conference.
However, his postseason production has been a bit up-and-down. Oklahoma City cruised through the first two rounds with an unbeaten record with series wins over the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers, notching a couple of blowouts in which Gilgeous-Alexander hit the bench earlier than usual. His playoff averages sit at 27.7 points, 8.1 dimes and 3.1 boards, shooting 47.1% from the field and 30.4% from deep in the process. His scoring efficiency has certainly taken a slight step back in a tougher environment, though the free throws are still coming at a high rate.
Tonight, DraftKings Sportsbook lists Gilgeous-Alexander’s prop bet lines at O/U 30.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists, and 1.5 three pointers. His combined PTS + REB + AST line comes in at 43.5 after ticking upward over the last couple of outings.
Those lines heavily suggest a massive night for the Canadian guard, but the reality suggests that this isn’t an easy matchup. Over four games of this series, he’s averaging only 24.8 points on a 39.2% FG% and 26.7% 3P%. Those are some abysmal efficiency numbers in light of how effective Gilgeous-Alexander generally is, showing that the Spurs’ backcourt — likely Stephon Castle in particular — is making life difficult. Granted, his 10.0 assists per game in this small sample are an incredibly impressive number that shows he’s unafraid to defer to teammates, but the Thunder need his scoring more than anyone’s given that Jalen Williams is questionable, Ajay Mitchell is out, and Chet Holmgren has been neutralized by Victor Wembanyama.
If you go back a little bit further to the start of this season, Gilgeous-Alexander has played nine total games against San Antonio. Over this sample, he’s averaging 27.1 PPG on a 45.2% FG% and a 22.2% 3P%. In nine tries, the superstar has remained under 30.5 points on seven occasions with production of 29, 33, 22, 34, 24, 30, 26 and 19 points. The last four of those marks came in the first four games of this series as well. With that consideration as well as the impact of Castle and Dylan Harper’s defense on the perimeter alongside Wembanyama’s imposing paint presence, under 30.5 points for Gilgeous-Alexander is easily the best player prop for Game 5 tonight.
