Blake Krass takes you through his 2026 French Open best bets for Friday 5/29 on both the men’s and women’s side.
The best players in the world are all at Roland-Garros for the 2026 French Open. There have already been shock upsets, and the field seems wide open on both the men’s and women’s side of the tournament.
These are my French Open best bets to target on DraftKings Sportsbook for Friday.
The French Open is now wide open following the upset of Jannik Sinner. With Sinner and Alcaraz not in the field, it is truly anyone’s tournament to take. This will be the first time since 2023 that someone other than Sinner or Alcaraz has won a Grand Slam title. One of the new favorites all of a sudden is rookie sensation Rafael Jodar. Jodar has the fourth-best odds to win the tournament at DraftKings Sportsbook despite this being his first-ever French Open.
Jodar is in his first year as a professional tennis player, but has already proven that he can be one of the best in the world on clay. He won his first career ATP title at the Grand Prix Hassan II in his first clay tournament of the year. While incredibly impressive for his age, it was not against very stiff competition. However, Jodar followed that up with a trip to the semi-finals in Barcelona and the quarter-finals in both Madrid and Rome.
Rafael Jodar has been clinical through his first two matches at Roland-Garros, winning six out of seven sets played. He should keep that dominance going against Alex Michelsen and win in straight sets. Michelsen had lost in the first round of his past four major starts prior to this one. He has also never won an ATP title. He is not built for Grand Slam tennis, so Jodar should dispose of him in straight sets to move on to the fourth round.
Mirra Andreeva is the best young player in women’s tennis at the moment. She is the youngest player in the WTA top 10 and is five years younger than anyone ranked ahead of her at the moment. Andreeva burst onto the scene by making the semi-finals here at Roland-Garros at just 17 years old in 2024. She then made it to the quarter-finals last year as well. Andreeva kicked off her 2026 clay season by winning the Linz Open. She then made the semi-finals in Stuttgart, the final in Madrid, and the quarter-finals in Rome. She is one of the five best clay players in the world and has a chance to make a run at her first Roland-Garros title. Andreeva should take care of Marie Bouzkova in straight sets to move on to the next round.
Elsewhere, Belinda Bencic should take down Peyton Stearns in their match. She is coming off a strong win over the American Caty McNally and should keep that rolling against another American. Stearns has never made it past the third round at Roland-Garros before and Bencic should stop her from doing it this year as well.
