Alex Hunter breaks down his favorite WNBA player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Sunday’s four-game slate.
Sunday presents a four-game WNBA slate. Below, I have featured three of my favorite WNBA player prop bets for these contests on DraftKings Sportsbook.
While Astier is going to see a few extra minutes with Satou Sabally (concussion) out, Sabrina Ionescu is healthy right now and this is a brutal matchup vs. the Valkyries. Golden State ranks dead last in pace and second in defensive rating this season. Astier has played seven games alongside Ionescu during her rookie season and Astier is only averaging 7.3 PPG with a 15% usage rate in those tilts.
Astier has stayed under 7.5 points in 4-of-7 games with Ionescu active, including a three-point performance across 25 minutes vs. the Storm on Thursday. Astier shouldn’t do much scoring tonight and backing her for under 7.5 points is an easy call.
Fudd was held to just seven points vs. the Aces her last time out and she is in a brutal spot Sunday, going against the Lynx and their league-best defense. Minnesota leads the WNBA with a 97.5 defensive rating, which is far ahead of the Valkyries ranking second at 102.3. Fudd has already faced the Lynx twice this season and she finished with just eight and seven points in those matchups.
Fudd has fallen short of 14.5 points in 6-of-11 games since joining the Wings’ starting lineup in late May and her 17.8% usage rate during this stretch ranks just fifth for Dallas. Fudd has shown a tendency to thrive against weak defenses, but struggle against tough defenses so far in her rookie season and 14.5 points is just too high of a line for her with the Lynx in town.
Engstler has been solid on the glass this season, but this line is simply too high for her vs. the Mystics. Engstler is averaging 4.7 rebounds per game this season and she has stayed under 5.5 rebounds in 12-of-19 games.
Sunday will be her first matchup of the season vs. the Mystics and Washington is limiting it’s opponents to the second-fewest rebounds per game (30.1), so Engstler falling short of 5.5 rebounds is likely.
