The first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs continues on Tuesday night with a three-game slate, and boy, is it a good one. The Sabres look to close out the Bruins in Buffalo at 7:30 p.m. ET with a 3-1 lead in the series, while half an hour later, the Stars and Wild battle in a crucial Game 5 with their own matchup knotted at 2-2. Finally, the Oilers try to stave off elimination in front of the home crowd at 10 p.m. ET.

Jesper Wallstedt over 26.5 saves (-115)

The decision to start rookie Jesper Wallstedt in the playoffs over Filip Gustavsson was a bold one from Wild head coach John Hynes and his staff. For as much of a risk it was ahead of Game 1, it turns out it was a calculated one which has paid dividends. This series remains knotted at 2-2 and the netminder is a huge reason why. Wallstedt’s .929 SV% is good for fifth among postseason goalies with multiple starts and gets a bump up to fourth among those remaining in the field. The most important number we can provide here is that he’s 4-for-4 on going over 26.5 saves in this series with totals of 27, 28, 32 and 43 saves. Yes, the last two games both went to overtime, but the Dallas attack currently leads playoff teams with 35.3 shots on goal per game. That’s a huge shift from during the regular season when the Stars were third-to-last with 25.3. If they keep up this level of aggression, Wallstedt should easily go over tonight’s prop line. The Wall from St. Paul has been profoundly impressive.

Jackson LaCombe 1+ points (-145)

Did anyone have the Ducks taking a 3-1 lead over the Oilers through four games of this Pacific Division series? This has been an absurdly high-scoring matchup with 35 combined goals through those four contests, and if you go back to the regular season, that tally sits at 63 combined goals in just seven games. The lesson here is that there’ll be no shortage of points tonight from a litany of skaters. One beneficiary of the score-happy environment has been Anaheim blueliner Jackson LaCombe, who currently leads his team with eight points in the playoffs. However, that lead isn’t limited to just the Ducks — the 25-year-old paces all postseason skaters in overall production and assists. He’s scored at least a point in all four games thus far with totals of one, three, and a pair of two-point performances. Given the outlook tonight, I love getting LaCombe to record another point, even at -145 odds. If you’re bolder, consider taking him to record two at +340 as well.
