After a chaotic finale full of twists and relationship drama, Perfect Match crowned its newest winning couple.
Perfect Match Season 4 is a wrap and the winning couple was revealed. But the winners weren’t crowned before one last bit of drama involving our two most prominent couples. Find out who won below and see my thoughts on the rest of the finale.
Who won Perfect Match Season 4?
Dave and Sophie won Perfect Match Season 4 and won an all-expenses paid, week-long vacation to continue to grow their connection away from prying eyes.
I went into this feeling like it should have been Jimmy S, and Alison, but if it wasn’t them this would probably have been my No. 2 choice. I actually think Ally put it quite well when she noted that Dave and Sophie were both open to the experience, but ultimately found their way to each other. I didn’t initially buy them as a couple, with Sophie noting that Dave was a bit of a red flag for her and of course Dave kissing literally every woman on the show. But, as I noted in my finale preview, by the end they sort of became the the couple laughing with each other about it all and it seems like their connection really grew.
So are they still together? If you want to be spoiled, you can find out the status of Sophie and Dave, as well as all the other couples, here.
Perfect Match Episodes 8 Observations
(Warning: Spoilers ahead.)
Just a few quick final observations:
- Despite an exhausting night of fighting in Episode 7, somehow Marissa and DeMari wound up staying together all the way to the finale. And that includes DeMari going on one last date with his ex Bri, which seemingly went well and gave both the closure they needed on their relationship. To be honest, this couple were a giant red flag by the end, so I think it’s right that despite winning the most challenges and dominating the early portion of the show this couple was not the perfect match.
- We also got one final bit of drama in the Ally/Jimmy P./Hashim love triangle. Dave and Sophie won the final compatibility challenge, bringing back Bri and Jimmy P. Despite all the drama from Episode 7, Jimmy chose to try and rekindle things with Ally. And it worked as after their date, Ally chose to re-match with Jimmy P. over Hashim. Of course, things naturally got a little messy again at the end with Hashim doing a little kissing and telling, but at the very least Ally and Jimmy were consistently entertaining.
- The other most interesting/messy part of the final vote ceremony involved Kayla. Entering with Weston, who she paired up with in Episode 7, Kayla actually eliminated herself to reunite with Chris. That then led Mackenzie to accuse the pair of chatting through Spotify, at Allison’s recommendation. Honestly, it was the most interesting thing Mackenzie did all season, but in the end Kayla made her surprising choice, which Nick Lachey noted was a first for the series.
- Again, I went into the finale feeling that Alison and Jimmy S. were the strongest couple and I leave the finale feeling that way. Pinky promises or no, this couple seemed legitimately into each other and made plans to see each other post-show regardless of the outcome. Whereas almost every other couple on the show had some red flags, this couple really didn’t.
- As always, Yamen and Natalie were sort of just there, which even he admitted. They continue to give off friend vibes, even when they were kissing or attempting to show they were something more. Honestly, Nick was right that this “couple” was never really tested at all and I don’t have much more to say about them because they were just a big nothing burger.
So the boardroom is closed, no more compatability challenges or dates to be had. At times I got into Perfect Match, but I feel it’s safe to call this the undercard to the summer’s real reality dating giant, Love Island USA. At the very least, we’re all ready to head to the Love Island villa along with all the singles and bombshells as well as Ariana Madix.
What is Perfect Match?
Perfect Match is a reality dating show hosted by Love Is Blind‘s Nick Lachey where singles from across reality TV pair up, compete in challenges designed to test their compatibility and have the chance to “wreak havoc on other couples or set themselves up on a date with a cute newbie.”
A competition win gives couples the chance to head to the Boardroom and play matchmaker … or match breaker. Contestants can do this by bringing in new singles and sending them on a date with a member of an existing couple — either with good intentions or in a bid to sow chaos and weaken competing couples. One member of the winning couple could even choose to set themselves up with one of the new singles if they’re looking to play the field a bit.
