Alex Hunter breaks down his top DraftKings NBA DFS targets and value plays for tonight’s slate on Wednesday, April 22.
The NBA Playoffs continue Wednesday with a two-game slate. DraftKings continues to offer huge contests for DFS players, and below, I break down some of my favorite NBA DFS options at each position for Wednesday’s NBA action.

Cade Cunningham, Detroit Pistons vs. Orlando Magic, $9,800
The Pistons lost Game 1 on their home floor, but Cunningham had his best game since returning from his collapsed lung. The guard posted 51.25 FPTS in 40 minutes while shooting 13-of-27 from the field. Cunningham has no limitations and he should barely leave the floor tonight, as Detroit looks to avoid an 0-2 deficit in this best-of-seven.
Cunningham is scoring 1.5 FPTS per minute with a 30% usage rate this season and getting him at a sub-$10,000 salary is highway robbery, especially with a Magic defense he has flourished against on the other side. Cunningham is averaging 62.3 FPTS per game in four matchups with Orlando this season and just last month, his price on DraftKings was above $11,000.
Other Options: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($9,700), Jalen Green ($7,700)
Ajay Mitchell, Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Phoenix Suns, $4,400
Mitchell has played well vs. the Suns this season and is a solid punt play at $4,400. The guard scored 23.75 FPTS in 21 minutes in Sunday’s Game 1 vs. Phoenix, marking his third straight effort of over 20 FPTS vs. the club.
Mitchell is producing 1.0 FPTS per minute with a 21% usage rate this season and he should top 20 FPTS again tonight.
Other Options: Duncan Robinson ($4,200), Cason Wallace ($3,800)
Paolo Banchero, Orlando Magic at Detroit Pistons, $8,500
Banchero finished with 41.75 FPTS across 36 minutes in the Magic’s Game 1 upset over the Pistons. The forward hasn’t scored under 40 FPTS in all four of his meetings with Detroit this season, with his best being a 51.75 FPTS performance.
Banchero has eclipsed 40 FPTS in six of his last eight and he is leading the Magic with 1.2 FPTS per minute and a 28% usage rate this season. Banchero spent most of this season priced over $9,000 on DraftKings and he is a strong bargain at only $8,500.
Other Options: Jalen Williams ($7,600), Franz Wagner ($6,300)
Tobias Harris, Detroit Pistons vs. Orlando Magic, $5,600
Harris is the veteran of this Pistons squad and he should once again step up in Game 2 as Detroit attempts to even this series. In Game 1 vs. the Magic, Harris was excellent, scoring 34 FPTS in 35 minutes while seeing a 26% usage rate.
Harris has been awesome vs. Orlando this season, scoring at least 33 FPTS in three of his four meetings. Harris spent four years with the Magic earlier in his career and his success against his former team should continue tonight.
Other Options: Dillon Brooks ($5,900), Jordan Goodwin ($4,900, if active), Royce O’Neale ($4,000)
Wendell Carter Jr., Orlando Magic at Detroit Pistons, $5,700
Jalen Duren is the only center on the slate priced over $6,000, so he technically is the only “stud” at the position. But, Duren is overpriced at $8,000. The big man has fallen short of 40 FPTS in five straight and three straight vs. the Magic.
Meanwhile, Carter Jr. is in strong form and the highest priced center worth rostering for this short slate. The center posted 39.75 FPTS across 36 minutes in the Game 1 win for the Magic. Carter Jr. finished a team-best +20 in the box score, he shot 8-of-9 from the field and his defense was the key to slowing down Duren.
Carter Jr. was on the floor for nearly every minute Duren played and given how effective this strategy was, Carter Jr.’s minutes should continue to mirror Duren’s in Game 2. Carter Jr. should see 35-40 minutes barring foul trouble, giving him an excellent chance to easily outproduce his salary again. This season, Carter Jr. is scoring 0.9 FPTS per minute while shooting 50% from the field.
Jaylin Williams, Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Phoenix Suns, $3,400
Williams was a strong spark off the bench in Game 1 vs. the Suns, scoring 20.5 FPTS in just nine minutes, marking his fourth showing of at least 15 FPTS in his last six. Williams is only going to see 10-15 minutes of work, but he is an efficient fantasy player and the big man exceeding five-times value at only $3,400 is very possible.
Williams is scoring 1.0 FPTS per minute and he has finished with at least 20 FPTS in three of his four matchups with the Suns this season.
Other Options: Goga Bitadze ($3,600)
