Alex Hunter provides his top DraftKings fantasy golf value plays for the 2026 Truist Championship at Quail Hollow Club.
For the final event before the PGA Championship, the PGA TOUR is hosting the Truist Championship this week, which is the sixth of eight Signature Events this season. As a Signature Event, there will be 72 golfers competing for a $20 million purse and no cut. The Truist Championship will be played at Quail Hollow Club (par 71, 7,583 yards, Bermuda/POA trivialis greens) in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Truist Championship was formerly known as the Wells Fargo Championship and this event has been played at Quail Hollow since 2003, except in 2017, 2020, 2022 and 2025. Last year, Quail Hollow hosted the PGA Championship, which Scottie Scheffler (-11) won by five shots.
Quail Hollow is a long, tree-lined par 71 that features narrow fairways, thick rough, large but firm greens, 61 bunkers and water in play on six holes. Quail Hollow is a challenging, driver-heavy course where you need to have a complete performance to win, performing well with your driver, irons and putter. Each of the past two winners at this venue has finished the week in the top 10 in SG OTT. When Rory McIlroy won the 2024 Truist Championship, he notably led his field in both SG OTT and driving distance. Plus, four of the last five winners at Quail Hollow have finished the event top-12 in both SG APP and SGP.
As a par 71, there are 11 par fours at Quail Hollow and six of these holes range from 450-500 yards. Scoring well on these holes is imperative, as each of the past four victors at Quail Hollow have finished the event top-three in scoring on the 450-500-yard par fours of Quail Hollow.
Let’s dive into three of my favorite DraftKings bargain plays for the Truist Championship, which all cost less than $7.5K.

Alex Noren ($7,400) – Noren has finished T24th and T17th in his last two starts at Quail Hollow, and he is coming off his best showing of the season, finishing T7th at the Cadillac Championship. Outside around the greens, Noren gained strokes in every category at the Blue Monster Course. The Swede opened the event with a 2-over 74, but Noren shot under par in his final three rounds, including a 6-under 66 on moving day.
Noren has made eight cuts in a row and seven of these finishes have been results of T32nd or better. The 43-year-old has gained strokes on approach at three consecutive events and Noren has top-15 upside this week if he can stay hot as a ball striker.
Max Homa ($7,000) – Homa always looks forward to teeing it up at Quail Hollow. Two of his six PGA TOUR wins have come at this par 71. Homa won the 2019 Wells Fargo Championship by three shots and the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship by two shots. The 35-year-old also finished T8th at the event in 2023 and 2024. Homa has been solid this season, making 8 of 11 cuts with three top-30 finishes and playing at a venue he knows well makes a big difference for Homa.
The veteran just proved this last month at the Masters. Despite missing back-to-back cuts, Homa went to Augusta National and finished T9th, marking his third straight top-12 finish at the famous course. Homa brings similar upside at Quail Hollow and he is a terrific, cheap play for GPPs at only $7,000, which is the cheapest Homa has been on DraftKings for an event at Quail Hollow since his win here in 2019.
Matt McCarty ($7,000) – McCarty missed the cut in his first start at Quail Hollow for last year’s PGA Championship, but he returns to the track 10 spots higher in the world golf rankings and is playing great golf. McCarty has made 11-of-14 cuts and carded seven top-25 finishes this season, four of which have come in his last four starts.
McCarty finished T24th at the Masters, T12th at the RBC Heritage, T10th at the team based Zurich Classic and T9th at the Cadillac Championship. That final finish came just last week and was another Signature Event. McCarty ranked third among the stacked field in SG APP and in this form, he should produce a quality finish in his second attempt at Quail Hollow.
