NHL picks today: Our prediction and pick for Game 6 of the second round between the Ducks and Golden Knights in the NHL Playoffs.
The Ducks will host the Golden Knights on Wednesday night in Game 6 of the second round of the 2026 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, with puck drop set for 9:30 p.m. ET. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Vegas is a slight -112 road favorite on the Moneyline, and the game’s total is set at O/U 6.5 goals.
Below, I’ll provide a Ducks vs. Golden Knights Game 6 prediction and pick.
The Ducks have their backs against the wall for tonight’s Game 6 tilt, but they’re likely glad that the series is back in Anaheim. The club is a strong 4-1 at home this postseason, while averaging a postseason-high 4.40 goals per game. Anaheim ranks slightly better than Vegas in terms of 5v5 goals per 60 this postseason and still generates a high number of high-danger chances, but its defense and goaltending have been very underwhelming. The Ducks have allowed the most 5v5 goals per 60 and 5v5 high-danger chances against of the remaining playoff teams, and Lukas Dostal has had an up-and-down postseason thus far. Dostal ranks dead last among all goaltenders this postseason in goals saved above expected, and he sports a worse GAA (3.43) and SV% (.861) at home thus far.
It felt like many discounted the Golden Knights coming into the postseason, but the team is still rolling and has a chance to advance to the Western Conference Final for the first time since 2023, the same year it won the Stanley Cup. While Vegas hasn’t necessarily dominated the series, its playoff experience has been evident, and its special teams play has been elite. The club has scored a power play in four of five games in this series, while holding Anaheim to just a 17.6% power play percentage. This shutdown defense is especially notable, considering the Ducks converted 50% of their power play opportunities in the first round, scoring at least one power play goal in every game. It also helps that Carter Hart has looked great between the pipes this series, sporting a 2.20 GAA and .928 SV% thus far. Considering how many high-danger chances the Ducks generate, Hart’s play deserves some recognition.
As fun of a story as Anaheim is, Vegas is the better team and is no stranger to big playoff games. The Golden Knights have the advantage in both goaltending and special teams play.
