A 15-game, 30-team slate makes up Saturday’s Major League Baseball action. It’s rivalry weekend, which means today’s games have an added dose of intensity. This afternoon, the resurgent Phillies will send ace Cristopher Sanchez to the mound against the upstart Pirates. Later, it’ll be Carlos Rodon on the bump for the Yankees against the crosstown rival Mets. Elsewhere, the title-contending Cubs will battle the up-and-coming White Sox in the south side of Chicago.

With so many contests on deck, the options are endless for bettors. Before the start of Saturday’s matchups, here are three MLB bets worth placing on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Orioles vs. Nationals over 5.5 runs first 5 innings (-110)

The Beltway Series continues this afternoon following a 3-2 Nationals win on Friday. A win for the home team doesn’t come as much of a shock, but the final score is a bit surprising. After all, these are two clubs that love mashing the ball. Washington owns baseball’s second-highest scoring offense with 239 runs; Baltimore is tied for 13th with 195 runs. Even more important for the sake of this bet, neither side possesses quality starting pitching. The Nats own a 4.95 team ERA, while the Orioles have a 4.58 ERA; both marks rank within the sport’s bottom six teams.

Washington will send staff ‘ace’ Cade Cavalli to the mound on Saturday. The right-hander has done an exceptional job keeping the ball in the park (0.2 HR/9). However, he’s on the hook for a whopping 1.59 WHIP, due in large part to giving up contact. The 27-year-old is giving up 10.26 hits per nine innings. That’s the tenth-highest mark among all pitchers with at least 40.0 innings. On the other side, it’ll be Chris Bassitt toeing the slab. The former All-Star has been a shell of his old self (5.21 ERA, 1.74 WHIP). Much like Cavalli, the veteran gives up plenty of hard-hit balls. Bassitt has notched a dismal 11.7 hits per nine innings this season. It’s difficult to envision either starter keeping these offenses in check.

White Sox ML (-114)

If the White Sox are going to earn a win over their crosstown rivals, Saturday offers their best chance. Right-hander Davis Martin has been a revelation, sitting atop most American League leaderboards. Through eight outings, the righty has accounted for a 1.62 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 52 strikeouts (9.4 K/9). He’s gotten a bit lucky so far (3.90 xERA), but there’s no reason to expect a precipitous fall-off from the 29-year-old. Martin’s standout skill is superior command; his 5.2 BB% ranks among the top eight percent of all pitchers. That’s bad news for the Cubs, an offense that relies heavily on free passes. They’re averaging an MLB-best 4.67 walks per game this season.

It’s not just Martin that should give the South Siders hope tonight. The White Sox have been on fire as of late, winning ten of their last 15 contests. This group loves the long ball, slugging the fourth-most home runs in baseball (59). Five different Chicago regulars have a slugging percentage of at least .400, led by offseason acquisition Munetaka Murakami (.526 SLG). If there’s a notable weakness for Cubs hurler Jameson Taillon, it’s giving up dingers. Through eight appearances in 2026, he’s posted a 2.2 HR/9 ratio. That’s the fourth-worst mark among all qualified starters. A high-powered offense and a top-flight pitcher? Things are looking up for the Sox this evening.

Braves ML (-125)

Two teams going in opposite directions will meet tonight in Atlanta. The Braves are the class of the National League, dominating in just about every statistical category. Tonight, they’ll hand the ball to former All-Star Bryce Elder. Through 54.2 innings of work, the 26-year-old owns a 1.81 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 53 strikeouts (8.7 K/9). Now, he gets to take on a miserable Red Sox offense at home. Boston is averaging 3.70 runs per game, third-worst in the league. To boot, the team ranks last in baseball with a .645 OPS against right-handed pitching.

Granted, runs could be difficult to come by in this one. The Red Sox will hand the ball to rookie sensation Payton Tolle. The top prospect has looked at home in the majors this season. During four starts, he’s posted a 1.99 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 27 strikeouts (10.7 K/9). It’s no fluke either; the southpaw has a .164 expected batting average against, within the top four percent of all pitchers. Tolle’s three favorite offerings are the fastball (45%), sinker (24%) and cutter (15%). Against those three pitches combined, the Braves have a .295 batting average and .489 slugging percentage. Given Boston’s lack of hitting, Atlanta won’t even need much run support to pick up another win on Saturday.
