We have a huge Friday night of Major League Baseball to start the long weekend off right with 28 teams on the schedule under the lights. Some of the matchups do have some weather concerns, but there are plenty of fun options in home run props and DFS fantasy baseball contests on the board. It’s also a great night to explore some of the many options offered for starting pitcher prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook. In almost every MLB contest, starting pitching is key to deciding how the matchup will play out. DraftKings Sportsbook offers plenty of different varieties of SP prop bets, so let’s survey the field and find some fun ones to target this Friday night.

Top MLB SP Props

Davis Martin 6+ Strikeouts (+127)

Martin has been one of the top breakout starting pitcher stars of the season so far, carrying an impressive 1.61 ERA and 2.39 FIP through his first nine starts, racking up six wins and emerging as a true ace for the young but quickly growing White Sox roster.

Martin’s K% has jumped from 17.3% last year to 27.4% this year, and he has whiffed 59 batters in just 56 innings. He has at least seven strikeouts in each of his last five games, totaling 40 punchouts in 31 frames.

He and the White Sox will be at pitcher-friendly Oracle Park, taking on the Giants this Friday. Even though the Giants don’t always strike out a ton, they don’t score many runs either, which should allow Martin to work deep enough into the game to get at least six strikeouts.

Justin Wrobleski u1.5 Walks Allowed (-110)

Wrobleski and the Dodgers are in Milwaukee for a great series with the Brew Crew this weekend. The 25-year-old lefty has been very reliable for Los Angeles this season and he has gone 6-1 with a 2.49 ERA and 3.38 FIP in his nine games. With six wins on the year, his “To Record a Win” prop at +146 is tempting, but instead I’m going with him to keep his free passes under control and issue one or fewer walks.

Wrobleski has averaged 1.5 walks per game this season, but that number is skewed by a pair of four-walk outings. He has actually come in under this prop in seven of his nine games, including three straight games against the Cardinals, Braves and Angels.

He doesn’t throw extremely hard, so he has to be accurate to be effective, and in most of his starts this season, he has been able to achieve that. The fact that this game is indoors in a climate-controlled environment should also help weather not be a factor in this marquee matchup between Wrobleski and another exciting young arm in Logan Henderson.

Jacob deGrom u7.5 Hits Allowed + Walks Allowed + ER Allowed (-120)

DeGrom and the Rangers are in Anaheim, setting up a great matchup for the 37-year-old righty. In his nine starts this season, he has gone 3-3 with a 3.02 ERA and 0.91 WHIP.

He had a rough outing against the Astros in his last outing, but he was under this prop in six of his previous seven starts before running into problems in Houston.

This will be the first time deGrom faces the Angels this season, but they have only scored 31 runs total in their 13 games over the last two weeks (2.4 runs per game) while hitting .193 as a team. In such a great spot, deGrom should be able to bounce back and stay under this prop again to help Texas start their division series with a win.
