Bryan Armetta breaks down his two favorite MLB bets today on DraftKings Sportsbook for Saturday’s 15-game slate.
A 15-game, 30-team slate makes up Saturday’s Major League Baseball action. Among the matchups to watch, the Cubs and Cardinals renew their rivalry tonight in St. Louis. Elsewhere, the Yankees and A’s meet for a potential slugfest in Sacramento. As a nightcap, the Phillies and Dodgers continue their rematch of last season’s NLDS.
With so many contests on deck, the options are endless for bettors. Before the start of Saturday’s matchups, here are two MLB bets worth placing on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Even without Drake Baldwin (oblique), the Braves remain one of baseball’s most fearsome lineups. Six different regulars in this offense have posted a wRC+ above 100. Atlanta should be licking its chops tonight against Reds hurler Brady Singer. The right-hander has been atrocious in 2026 (6.26 ERA, 1.70 WHIP). To boot, he’s on the hook for a 2.7 HR/9 ratio, second-worst among qualified starters. At hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park, several dingers should be expected.
On the other side, it’ll be Martin Perez toeing the slab for Atlanta. Through 46.2 innings of work this season, the 35-year-old has recorded a 2.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 40 strikeouts (7.7 K/9). Those numbers, while solid, are a bit deceiving. According to the veteran’s Savant page, he doesn’t rank within the top 50th percentile in any major pitching category. Perez has also been far better at home (0.82 ERA) than on the road (4.38 ERA). Cincinnati has posted a .750 OPS against left-handed pitching, seventh-best in baseball. Don’t be shocked if the Reds pick up a handful of runs in this one.
In what could be a potential postseason preview, the Dodgers eked out a 4-2 win on Friday. Los Angeles will hope to earn a series victory tonight with inconsistent hurler Roki Sasaki toeing the slab. Despite possessing undeniable talent, the Japanese import has struggled during two seasons in the majors. Over nine starts in 2026, he’s notched a 4.93 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 43 strikeouts (8.5 K/9). With that being said, the righty has produced a 3.52 ERA during his previous four appearances.
In spite of Sasaki’s recent success, this isn’t an ideal matchup. For starters, the Phillies are loaded with offensive firepower. They’ve slugged 69 home runs this season, ninth-most in the sport. In comparison, Sasaki owns a lackluster 1.8 HR/9 ratio. In his big league career, the 24-year-old has produced a middling 4.75 ERA when pitching at Dodger Stadium. On the other side, Philadelphia hurler Jesus Luzardo has had some success in this spot. The southpaw has delivered a 2.60 ERA over his previous five meetings with Los Angeles. He comes into this one having allowed two earned runs over his previous 18.0 innings of work (1.00 ERA). Equipped with a superior starter, the Phillies make plenty of sense at plus money.
