Wednesday’s slate features a full schedule of games, highlighted by Gerrit Cole continuing his scoreless return for the Yankees, Paul Skenes coming off a 10-strikeout outing for Pittsburgh, and Cristopher Sanchez carrying dominant numbers into Philadelphia’s matchup with San Diego.
Meyer is coming off his worst start of the season, allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits against the Mets. Alvarez will serve as the opener for the Nationals in this game.
Through two starts, Melton has allowed two runs on eight hits with four strikeouts in 12.2 innings. Martinez continues to be a major regression candidate, with his 1.62 ERA, a 4.14 xERA and a 3.26 FIP.
As a starter, Fedde owns a 4.98 ERA with a .365 wOBA and a 6.84 FIP. In his last start, Bradley allowed four runs on five hits with six strikeouts against the Pirates.
Peralta has been his best on the road, posting a 3.13 ERA with a .282 wOBA and a 4.21 FIP. Over his last three starts, Kirby has allowed 13 runs on 21 hits through 17 innings.
Sanchez continues to dominate, posting a 1.47 ERA with an xERA of 2.90 and a 1.82 FIP.
Bassitt has allowed at least four earned runs in five of his nine starts this season. Tolle has been fantastic since being called up, posting a 2.61 ERA with a 2.20 xERA and a 2.67 FIP in seven starts.
Williams’ 10.3 K/9 is currently a new career high. Since returning from Tommy John surgery, Cole has tossed 12.2 shutout innings.
Burns is scheduled to make this start after being scratched on Monday due to illness.
While Corbin has done well at keeping the ball in the yard, his 5.26 xERA alongside his 3.65 ERA shows that regression is near. Holmes has allowed 11 home runs through 57 innings after allowing 16 through 115 last season.
Webb’s 4.82 ERA and xERA of 4.39 are both the highest of his career since 2020.
Gore’s ERA and xERA are a perfect match at 3.96 each. Pallante has allowed a home run in three straight starts.
Springs has allowed five home runs over his last three starts. Rea hasn’t pitched more than 5.1 innings in seven of his nine starts.
Skenes struck out 10 for the second time this season in his last start against the Cubs. Arrighetti is a major regression candidate with his 1.34 ERA and an xERA of 4.68.
While Lorenzen hasn’t been as bad as his 7.22 ERA indicates, his 5.86 xERA and 5.05 FIP aren’t all that good either.
