(stats taken from DraftKings Sportsbook’s Stats Hub)
Victor Wembanyama 25+ Points (-123): I feel like there were a couple things we learned in Game 1 win. First and foremost, Mitch Johnson seems like he’s going to be running a pretty tight rotation — especially if De’Aaron Fox (ankle) remains sidelined. Despite Monday’s tilt going to double overtime, only seven San Antonio players logged double-digit minutes, with all five starters seeing the floor for at least 44 minutes. Luke Kornet, Victor Wembanyama’s backup, saw just 9.5 minutes of action, and the Spurs were outscored by nine points in those brief moments of time. As such, Wemby is going to be out on the court a lot, and the Thunder seemed very willing to try and guard him with undersized defenders in Alex Caruso and Lu Dort. I’m not saying he’s going to score 41 points in every contest in this series, but he might flirt with 25 points exclusively on chances off offensive rebounds. He looked that dominant.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 30+ Points (+104): On the opposite end of the spectrum, we find the two-time reigning MVP. Gilgeous-Alexander really struggled with the Spurs’ defense in Game 1, shooting just 7-for-23 (30.4%) from the field and finishing with 24 points. Now, SGA did manage to dish out 12 assists, and there’s a possibility that that’s going to have to be a larger aspect of his game in this series — especially if the aforementioned Wembanyama is waiting at the rim. Drive and kick might be the solution, which likely also means fewer free throw attempts for the Canadian. Jalen Williams is back in the mix, as well, and the oft-injured former All-Star had a team-high 35.4% usage rate in the double-OT loss. Could Gilgeous-Alexander still bounce back with 30+ points tonight? Of course. He’s averaged over 30 the past four years. However, he’s now failed to hit this prop in three of his five meetings with San Antonio in 2025-26. There’s risk here.
Chet Holmgren Under 13.5 Points (-112): If the box score wasn’t clear enough, Holmgren was frustratingly passive on the offensive end in Game 1, finishing with eight points and a 10.1% usage rate — the lowest mark of any Oklahoma City starter. Unfortunately, underwhelming point totals have sort of been an issue clouding over Holmgren’s whole campaign, as the former second-overall pick looked out of place as a No. 1 option earlier in 2025-26 when SGA and Jalen Williams were injured. That said, Holmgren’s averaging 17.4 points per game in the postseason. He’s cleared this prop in seven of his nine starts. He also looks like he’s going to be in store for a massive workload, as Mark Daigneault barely used Isaiah Hartenstein on Monday. Don’t overreact to one poor performance.
Taking three of the most-bet player props individually is always an option, but why not roll them into a same game parlay and get in on all the action at once? It’s a fun way to tie everything together — feel free to tag along.
