Garion Thorne provides the latest updates regarding Yankees OF Jasson Dominguez for today’s game vs. the Rangers.

It has been a rough go lately for Jasson Dominguez. A week after leaving a game in Texas after being hit by a pitch on the elbow, the former top prospect has once again been removed from a game against the Rangers — this time on the first play of the afternoon.

The sad irony here is that Dominguez was injured after making an amazing catch in left field. If there’s been an area of the 23-year-old’s game that has been the most underwhelming in his time with the Yankees, it’s easily been his defense.
Dominguez also hasn’t been doing much with the bat in 2026. Limited to just 32 plate appearances — he started the year in Triple-A — Dominguez is slashing a putrid .200/.250/.367 with a 71 wRC+. However, he did manage his first home run of the season on Sunday versus the Orioles.
