(Stats taken from DraftKings Sportsbook’s Stats Hub)
Kyle Schwarber 1+ Home Run (+252): The public is backing Schwarber in his afternoon matchup against Slade Cecconi in the early game as his Phillies host the Guardians. The lefty still leads the majors with 20 homers this season, and 13 of those blasts have come at home. He went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts on Friday after missing Monday through Wednesday due to illness. Before his layoff, though, he had nine long balls in his last 11 games. Schwarber has a .469 ISO and .469 wOBA in his 25 home games, and he will look to get back on track Saturday afternoon against Cecconi, who has allowed nine homers in his 10 starts this season, including seven in his starts on the road.
Shohei Ohtani 1+ Home Run (+292): Ohtani and the Dodgers are in Milwaukee, where they lost the first game of the series on Friday. While he has been dominant on the mound, Ohtani’s power numbers have been a little down this year. He has eight homers in his first 50 games of the season with a .273 batting average and a .382 wOBA. His Statcast numbers are still strong with a 48.5% hard-hit rate and 16.9% barrel rate. He has an even better 62.5% hard-hit rate and 20.8% barrel rate over the last nine games, with two homers over that stretch. He homered on Wednesday in San Diego and will look to add another homer in his matchup Saturday night with young lefty Robert Gasser, followed by the Brewers’ strong bullpen.
Corbin Carroll 1+ Home Run (+382): I’m with the public on this pick, since I included Carroll in my top home run props of the day. Carroll has seven homers this year, and is riding a 10-game hitting streak coming into this matchup with Michael Lorenzen. During his current streak, Carroll has gone 14-for-35 (.400) with a pair of homers, a 21.4% barrel rate and a 64.3% hard-hit rate. He has a max exit velocity over 101 miles per hour in seven straight contests, and he is 2-for-8 with two homers against Lorenzen in their past meetings. Carroll hasn’t homered in almost a week, but he’s hitting the ball well enough to still play him as a good value in this favorable matchup against the Rockies.
Taking three of the most-bet player props individually is always an option, but why not roll them into a same game parlay (SGP) and get in on all the action at once? It’s a fun way to tie everything together — feel free to tag along.
