Ryan Wohl previews tonight’s Matchroom Boxing card headlined by Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez vs. Antonio Vargas for the WBA Bantamweight title.
Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez, the current WBC and WBO Super Flyweight champion, is facing Antonio Vargas for the WBA Bantamweight title in the Main Event of tonight’s Matchroom Boxing card. Rodriguez, 26, has an undefeated record of 23-0 and has scored a knockout in his previous five contests.
Vargas is 29 with a 19-1-1 record and is coming off a draw against Daigo Higa in July 2025. His last victory was against Winston Guerrero in December 2024. Meanwhile, Rodriguez last beat Fernando Martinez in November 2025 and is looking to become an active two-division champion. If Rodriguez can continue his winning streak, a potential face-off with Naoya Inoue could be in the future.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Rodriguez is a -2500 favorite with Vargas being the underdog at +1100. The over/under is set at 6.5 rounds in this contest, with the under being -125. Bam is also -550 to score a victory by KO/TKO/DQ.
The second title fight on this card is Elif Turhan vs. Gabriela Tellez for the IBF World Championship. Both fighters enter this bout undefeated, with Turhan at 13-0 and Tellez at 7-0. This is Turhan’s second title defense, as she is coming off a split decision win against Taylah Gentzen in January. Tellez is only 19 years old, and this will be her eighth fight in the last 23 months. Turhan is a -370 favorite while Tellez is the underdog at +275 in this fight.
