Blake Krass takes you through his picks, predictions and best bets for Sunday 5/24 at the French Open.
The best players in the world are all at Roland-Garros for the 2026 French Open. It should be an incredible tournament in Paris on both the men’s and women’s sides.
These are my French Open best bets to target on DraftKings Sportsbook for Sunday.
Nuno Borges should play a tight match against Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the opening round at Roland-Garros. Borges was the No. 30 player in the world two years ago, but he has dropped to No. 50 in the latest ATP rankings. That being said, he started the year with a massive upset over Felix Auger-Aliassime in the first round of the Australian Open and made it to the third round there. That marked six straight majors where Borges made it to at least the second round, and he made it to at least the third round in five of those six. Borges is an underdog to make it out of the first round here in Paris, but he has proven to be up to the task at majors.
This will be the third meeting this year between these two players, after never meeting before 2026. Nuno Borges has won both of their matches so far this year. Borges defeated Etcheverry in the Round of 32 at the ASB Classic in the second tournament of the season. The two also faced off more recently on clay in Barcelona, where Borges beat Etcheverry again in the Round of 16. While Etcheverry has been the better player overall this season, Borges clearly has a head-to-head edge against him. These two are quite evenly matched on clay, so I’ll back Borges to keep it within the spread of 4.5 games.
It has been a really solid clay season for Caty McNally so far. She won the doubles title in Charleston to start the clay season. McNally then made it to the Round of 16 at the Open de Rouen and the Madrid Open, upsetting Victoria Mboko in Madrid. McNally had a tough draw in Rome, but she pushed eventual semifinalist Iga Swiatek to a third set in a good fight. She is now a favorite to make it out of the first round here in Paris. McNally is in much better form than Ajla Tomljanovic and should take her down in two sets.
Caty McNally is 2-0 in her career against Ajla Tomljanovic. Both of those wins came on hardcourt in 2025. Even in the past year, Tomljanovic has slipped further down the WTA rankings, while McNally has started to prove that she can perform better in singles. McNally has had a great career as a doubles player, but she is trying to improve her prestige in singles. She is currently No. 56 in the world in singles, and a good performance at Roland-Garros could push her into the top 50 for the first time in her career.
