Ciaran Doyle details his top Karl-Anthony Towns player props on DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday’s Knicks vs. Spurs Game 1 matchup.
Karl-Anthony Towns and the New York Knicks are four wins away from a championship. New York are looking for their third NBA title, and the first one since 1973. Towns will have a big role to play in this series if the Knicks are going to get it done, and Game 1 is his first opportunity to make his impact.
The Spurs are 5.5-point favorites and -198 on the moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook for Game 1 in San Antonio. The Knicks are +164, with the game total set at 218.5 points.
Let’s dive into my favorite Karl-Anthony Towns player props for the Game 1 contest.
Karl-Anthony Towns has been a monster on the glass in recent games, grabbing 12 or more rebounds in four of his last six contests. During the regular season, he averaged just around this number per game, with 11.8 rebounds per contest. Towns matched up with the Spurs three times in the regular season, putting up 12, 7 and 11 boards in those games. With the status of Mitchell Robinson’s health up in the air, regardless of whether he plays or not, I expect Towns to get some more playing time than usual, assuming he doesn’t get into foul trouble. If that’s the case, expect him to have a big night on the glass for New York.
Although KAT has recorded a block in two of his last three games, he hasn’t been playing against Victor Wembanyama. In three regular season matchups with San Antonio, Towns failed to record a block in any of those contests. It’s hard to get close to blocking a shot from Wemby, and unless Towns manages to get a block against someone else on the team, I think he will get shut out in this category on Wednesday. He averaged 0.5 blocks per game in the regular season. All it takes is one play for this total to go over, but I’m backing Towns to fail to record a block for his fourth straight game against the Spurs.
