(Stats taken from DraftKings Sportsbook’s Stats Hub)
Byron Buxton 1+ Home Run (+263): Buxton has hit 25 homers in his 70 games this season and eight of those long balls have come in his last 17 games. He has a 57.7% hard-hit rate and an even-better 23.1% barrel rate over that 17-game span. He has hit 14 of his 25 homers at home and 21 of his 25 homers against righties. Buxton will be on the strong side of both of those splits against the very hittable Tomyuki Sugano, with whom he is 1-for-2 with a homer against in their past meetings. Sugano has given up 14 homers in his 15 games this season, including nine homers against him in his seven starts away from Coors Field. While the weather isn’t ideal for homers, he still has enough recent form to have the public backing him at home this Friday.
Kyle Schwarber 1+ Home Run (+290): Schwarber has smashed five long balls in his last eight games with a .541 wOBA and a 75% hard-hit rate over that span. He leads the majors with 29 homers in his 77 games this season, and he can be the first hitter to get to 30 homers on the year if he gets a hold of one on Friday. He’ll be on the road on Friday night in Citi Field, where the forecast is for warm weather with the wind blowing out to right, setting him up in a great environment. The only negative factor to consider is that he will be going up against lefty Zach Thornton ($6,000). He did give up a homer in his only MLB appearance this year, though, and gave up seven homers in 55 innings in Triple-A on his way to a 4.25 ERA in 12 starts. It’s a lefty-lefty matchup, but the public still sees a potential Schwar-bomb inthe forecast this Friday.
James Wood 1+ Home Run (+353): In another lefty-lefty matchup, James Wood takes the third spot in the most bet options on the board this Friday. He will be in Baltimore against Trevor Rogers, who has allowed nine homers in 14 games. He was excellent against the Dodgers in his last start against the Dodgers, throwing seven one-hit, shutout innings, but on the year, he has a 5.30 ERA and 4.25 FIP. He has given up seven of those homers in his nine home starts with a 5.52 home ERA. Wood will hope to continue his struggles at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. He c comes into the series after going 0-for-15 in his last three games against the Phillies. He hasn’t homered in 10 games, but he still has a solid 69.2% hard-hit rate over that span. Wood has 20 homers on the season, and five of those blasts have come against left-handed pitchers with a .337 wOBA.
Taking three of the most-bet player props individually is always an option, but why not roll them into a same game parlay (SGP) and get in on all the action at once? It’s a fun way to tie everything together — feel free to tag along.
