Yandy Diaz isn’t the superstar name, but he’s putting up superstar numbers to start the season. He’s batting .365 with three home runs and 16 RBI. That won’t last all season, but who says the regression has to begin on Sunday? Diaz is on a seven-game hitting streak and only has three games without a hit this season.
Mitch Keller is starting for the Pirates during what’s been a solid season for the right-hander. He has a 2.86 ERA but his last outing was messy: five earned runs, six hits and four walks in 4.0 innings against the Nationals.
Regardless if Keller bounces back, Diaz has been matchup proof this year. He’s consistently putting up fantasy points early in 2026.
Nico Hoerner had a quiet Saturday against the Mets, but he was electric in the three prior games. He had 22, 35 and 14 fantasy points in those games. It wasn’t a random spurt either, as the infielder is batting .325 with three home runs and 20 RBI this year.
The Cubs get another game against the Mets, who are currently on a 10-game losing streak. New York’s pitching hasn’t been terrible, but David Peterson is starting this game. He’s allowed 14 earned runs through 19.2 innings this season (6.41 ERA).
Talk about hot starts. The Jordan Walker breakout is happening, and it seems real this time. He’s batting .315 with eight home runs and 16 RBI.
Walker is far more than just a home run or bust player as he’s on a 12-game hitting streak entering Saturday’s game. If he goes yard, the fantasy points will be plentiful, but he’s capable of producing without a home run.
