Everything You Need to Know Before Cape Fear Episode 4
Let’s break down the latest plot developments during last week’s episode, ‘Pierced’:
- The episode opens with Tom confronting Max at a bar, asking him what he gave his son. Cady says that Zach gave him a ‘beautiful’ drawing of his unborn son. He makes a subtle suggestion that Zach needs a father. Given that Max and Anna may have slept together, there’s a hidden meaning behind those words…
- On her way home, Anna runs into the strange woman in the mask from last week’s episode. She asks the attorney if this is her home, then tells the masked woman that Max doesn’t come around here.
- We got an interesting tidbit about Tom’s past this week. As a teenager, his older brother died via suicide. It’s something the Bowden patriarch doesn’t really want to discuss with his therapist, but it’s worth a mention.
- Nevaeh, who we first were introduced to last week, has her sights set on another member of the Bowden family. After seducing brother Zach online, she’s become one of daughter Natalie’s confidants (and a romantic partner). That includes getting one of her nipples pierced at a stranger’s house. Later, the two hook up once again by breaking into the house of one of Natalie’s friends.
- Anna has been busy with another SJLP case, trying to free the wrongfully convicted Ruben Ramirez. A tip said that a man named Warren Pitt, aka Smiley, was at the party where Ramirez’ alleged victim Maya Cook was killed. However, Smiley responds with hostility towards Anna when she visits his home. He doesn’t want to be linked in any way as an accessory to murder.
- As part of the Ramirez case, the SJLP asks Max to speak at an event. However, the press only seems to have questions for the nation’s most famous ex-convict, not related to the man currently imprisoned.
- Tom attempted to do a little bonding with Zach. At the son’s request, the two go to a local art show. There, he runs into ex-girlfriend Sofia and attempts to apologize. Keep in mind, he shared personal photos of her with a group chat. She and her parents want nothing to do with Zach, and he leaves in shame. Later, Sofia calls Zach to tell him he’s a bad person, warning him to stay away from her. That leads Zach to send a text to AngelX, aka Nevaeh.
- At a car dealership, a man tells Max that their wives used to be friends. He tells Mr. Cady that even if he didn’t kill his spouse, that doesn’t make him a good person. Max responds by telling him that he slept with his wife.
- When Max and Anna meet to discuss the Ramirez case, he forces himself on her for an uncomfortable kiss. Later, Cady visits Smiley in an attempt to try and ‘convince’ him to help out. That means stabbing one of his snakes to death before threatening Smiley into recording a message proving Ruben’s innocence.
- The woman with the mask comes back, this time with a video camera. She’s obsessed with Max, and warns Anna to stay away from him.
- Ray calls Anna at the end of the episode with a shocking revelation: former prison guard Faith Valentine is Nevaeh’s mother. That means her father is none other than Max Cady…
