Bryan Armetta shares his two favorite MLB NRFI prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday’s 15-game slate.
15 games between 30 teams are set for Wednesday across Major League Baseball. For those looking to cash in quickly on a bet, nothing makes more sense than an NRFI. With that being said, there’s more to this one than meets the eye. Some pitchers thrive early, while others take more time to get settled in than others. Which NRFI picks are worth a closer look today?
Ahead of Wednesday’s MLB contests, here are two NRFI bets worth placing on DraftKings Sportsbook.
In this battle between beleaguered offenses, it’ll be Connelly Early toeing the slab for Boston. Through 47.2 innings of work, the left-hander has notched a 3.21 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 45 strikeouts (8.5 K/9). To boot, the southpaw owns a phenomenal 2.23 ERA over seven career starts outside of hitter-friendly Fenway Park. It’s not as if Kansas City inspires much confidence at the plate either. The Royals own a 20.0% YRFI rate at home, fourth-worst in baseball. In addition, they’ve recorded the tenth-lowest OPS against left-handed pitching (.665).
For KC, it’ll be Michael Wacha on the bump in this one. It’s been another solid campaign for the veteran, now enjoying his 14th season in the majors. Over 57.1 innings pitched, he’s produced a 2.83 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 47 strikeouts (7.4 K/9). The former All-Star tends to start out strong as well. Since 2025, Wacha has a sparkling 88% NRFI rate. On the flip side, Boston has accounted for an MLB-worst 14.58% YRFI rate. The Red Sox are also averaging an American League-worst 3.69 runs per game. Add it all up, and it’s difficult to see any early scoring in this one.
As always, the Dodgers are firmly in contention for another World Series title. That’s due in large part to Shohei Ohtani; no shock there. What is somewhat surprising is that the Japanese superstar has been at his best as a pitcher rather than a batter. In 44.0 innings thrown this season, the four-time MVP has put up a 0.82 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 50 strikeouts (10.2 K/9). Ohtani has allowed more than one earned run in just one of seven outings so far. It would take a special lineup to score against LA’s ace. The Padres have been fairly mediocre with the bat, averaging the tenth-fewest runs per game in baseball (4.17). Their 18.75% YRFI rate on offense is also fifth-worst in the sport. Ohtani has yet to surrender a first inning run this season.
San Diego will turn to Randy Vasquez, a hurler that has reinvented himself in 2026. With added velocity, the Dominican looks like a rotation mainstay for the Friars. Over 50.1 frames this season, he’s delivered a 2.68 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 45 strikeouts (8.0 K/9). When playing at Petco Park, the fourth-year pro owns an 83% NRFI rate. That bodes well heading into Wednesday’s matchup with the hard-hitting Dodgers. Vasquez has given up four earned runs over his last 16.2 innings of work (2.16 ERA). With Ohtani on the other side, I’m willing to bet Randy holds LA’s star-studded lineup in check during the first tonight.
