Love Island: Beyond The Villa Season 2 wraps up its second season with two new episodes — “Ice-olated Islanders” and “The Can’t-Be-Friends Zone” — on Wednesday, May 6, at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock. Here are the episode descriptions:

“Ice-olated Islanders” (S2, E7)

The Islanders take a trip to Lake Tahoe; Bryan’s attempt to greet Amaya causes a heated fallout; Iris confronts Belle-A about their issues; Chris’ actions leave Coco uneasy about their relationship; the girls are divided.

“The Can’t-Be-Friends Zone” (S2, E8)

Gracyn, Belle-A and Coco confront Iris and Hannah about feeling iced out; Amaya lets Bryan know her boundaries; Chris and Coco decide what’s next for them; Andreina calls out Jeremiah’s mixed signals.

But before we get to those episodes, let’s take a look back at Episodes 5 and 6 from last week, which saw Pepe looking for Peace on Earth for Christmas but getting a lump of coal instead.

Love Island: Beyond The Villa Season 2 Episodes 5 and 6 Recap

(Warning: Spoilers ahead.)

Episode 5

• Hannah decides to throw a Love Island-themed Christmas party, as she loves the holidays and hers were lousy the prior year due to an injury. Everyone is down for the party, but things get a little bit messy because of relationship drama.
• The biggest drama once again involves the Pepe-Iris-T.J. triangle. Pepe is hoping for Peace on Earth this Christmas, but it’s clear from the moment he arrives that he is still not especially welcome. Andreina audibly gasps when arrives, while T.J. and Hannah don’t know why he would bother showing up. Jeremiah, for his part, refuses a handshake with Pepe as he is still not cool with him. Belle-A, continuing in her role as unofficial group mediator, tries to give Pepe a pep talk to initiate a conversation with Iris and T.J. Belle-A tries to take up for Pepe with Iris and T.J., but T.J. is ready to cut to the quick and just confront him. He approaches Pepe and asks why he’s lying on his name while Iris is pissed that Pepe went on a podcast (yet again, podcasts are the source of beef among the Islanders) and claimed she had a cheating scandal. Iris tells Pepe that they can squash the beef by apologizing, but they all seem like they’re just talking in circles dug in on their positions. Pepe eventually apologizes, but neither Iris nor T.J. buy it or are satisfied. Iris breaks down crying, T.J. feels like Pepe played him in the Villa and Pepe still feels like no one is hearing him. He leaves the party with none of their issues resolved.
• Another bit of relationship drama was with Austin and Gracyn. While far from exclusive — Austin is enjoying his fun as an unattached bachelor — Gracyn is certainly feeling a deep connection to Austin. Thus she is shocked when Belle-A suggests Austin may have gone exclusive with Belle-A’s friend. As seems to always be the case with this group, Gracyn wants to have a conversation with Austin about the drama at the holiday party, but in the spirit of holiday cheer and hoping to have the conversation when they are “more appropriately clothed” as Austin puts it, they put off the conversation for another day. When they do have the conversation at a coffee shop, Gracyn wants Austin to stand on business and not just tell her what she wants to hear. Austin denies he’s exclusive with anyone, but it’s clear they’re still on different wavelengths on what they are to each other and what they want from each other. There seems to be no resolution and they don’t fully define their roles, but say they will always be there for each other.
• Lastly, Taylor visits Clarke in L.A., where they address what looks to be the biggest issue in their relationship — her desire to live the city life while he is pure country. She says she likes L.A. and she wants to spend more time building up her image and exploring the opportunities she has there. Taylor is OK with L.A., but sees it as more of a short-term thing and not a long-term solution for him. He’ll support Clarke, but he’s not about to move to L.A. As long as she’s happy, he’s happy.

Episode 6

• The fallout from Pepe’s appearance at the holiday party continues as a group of the Islanders take in a Clippers game. Belle-A doesn’t want Iris to question their friendship, but she could also see herself in Pepe’s shoes a bit. Belle-A feels like her mission to make sure that everyone is good has come back to bite her a bit, which is confirmed later in the episode when Iris says she wants to be close with Belle-A but it’s hard to build a foundation with her when she’s also close to Pepe, who has hurt her.
• Speaking of Iris, she met up with T.J.’s mom while in New York and T.J.’s mom gives the hard sell for Iris to move to Tampa. She doesn’t see T.J. ever moving to L.A. to raise a family and she wants to be close to her future daughter-in-law and grandchildren. For what it’s worth T.J.’s mom says she can say that they love each other. Iris is considering surprising T.J. in Tampa because he’s been visiting her in L.A. and she wants to reciprocate. T.J. is busy busy in Tampa, managing 17 properties, but seems excited to see her. However, she is going to have to go to work with him. This doesn’t bother her, however, because she thinks he has the perfect job in that he gets to shop for work and could see them becoming a design duo.
• We get a little bit more of the city vs. country debate with Clarke and Taylor, even though they are not physically together in the entire episode. Clarke goes with Andreina to a modeling shoot and asks Andreina’s agent what the key to being a successful model is and she says being available. The agent has seen models lose opportunities based on where they are, which is seemingly bad news for Oklahoma. Meanwhile, Taylor invites Bryan and Chris out to Oklahoma to show off why he doesn’t want to move. Aside from being put to work by Taylor’s dad, Bryan doesn’t have high hopes for the nightlife in OKC, but both he and Chris seem happy with the spot Taylor takes them too. Although, Bryan tells Chris to be careful in public, as he already has seen what it can do to public figures in his relationship with Amaya.
• Of course that was a bit of foreshadowing, as Iris sees the video of the guys at the club on social media and questions them about it on a call. Chris thinks it’s nothing to stress over, but in the preview for the next episode Coco clearly isn’t thrilled. It is part of the rough patch Chris and Coco are going through, with Chris feeling like there’s two sides to her — Coco and Courtney. For her part, Coco says while Chris is nice, he could be a little more attentive and that she doesn’t want to be with someone who doesn’t meet her standards. The pair seems like it is on the rocks here, honestly, with Chris even saying that given they’re not exclusive if the signs are there that they’re not going to work out he just has to accept it and not make it how he wants it to be.
• Amaya doesn’t have much drama in this episode, beyond questioning Belle-A’s mediator role. But we do see get emotional as she prepares to move into her new place. But don’t worry Papa Papaya, there will always be an air mattress waiting for you at Amaya’s place.
