Alex Hunter shares his three favorite player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Sunday’s two-game NBA slate.
The NBA Playoffs continue Sunday with a two-game slate. Let’s take a look at three of my favorite player prop bets for Sunday’s slate on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Franz Wagner (calf) will be out for Sunday’s Game 7 between the Magic and Pistons, putting more on the plate of Bane, who is one of the leaders of this Orlando group. Bane’s usage rises to 24% with Wagner off the floor and in these past two without him, Bane opened Game 5 with four points in the first three minutes and he knocked down a three-pointer in the first three minutes of Game 6.
Bane providing some quick offense when Wagner is inactive has been the norm this season. With the wing out, Bane is leading the Magic with 1.9 PPG in the first three minutes while shooting a sensational 73% from the field. Bane has scored at least two points in the first three minutes of four of his last five starts sans Wagner and Bane should be one of the first players to get on the board in Sunday’s Game 7.
Cain started in place of Wagner for Game 6, but Cain only scored three points in 20 minutes of work. The 27-year-old only shot 1-of-3 from the field and his 9.8% usage rate was the lowest for the Magic. Anthony Black and Tristan da Silva both ended up seeing more minutes than Cain, with 33 and 22, respectively, and both should once again receive more work than Cain in Game 7.
In fact, it wouldn’t be surprising at all if Cain loses the starting role to one of Black or da Silva for this win-or-go-home matchup, considering both have been better and more consistent players than Cain all season. Cain is likely to only see around 20 minutes or potentially even less. Plus, this is a tough road matchup vs. the Pistons, who lead the playoffs in defensive rating. In this situation, Cain shouldn’t do much scoring.
Barnes has grabbed at least seven rebounds in three straight games and this 6.5-rebound line is just too low for him in a Game 7. Barnes logged 47.5 minutes in the overtime win in Game 6 and he should see over 40 minutes again tonight considering the circumstances.
Barnes saw 14 rebound chances in Game 6 and he is averaging 7.4 rebounds on 12.9 rebound chances per game this season. Barnes has also exceeded 6.5 rebounds in 6-of-9 matchups vs. the Cavaliers this season, including three showings of double-digit rebounds.
