Dorofeyev leads all skaters in goals this postseason (10), and he has scored at least once in each of his last four outings. He has found success against the Avalanche in the past, too, recording a goal in three of his last five road outings against them. The Golden Knights’ offense has been quite potent this postseason, averaging 3.69 goals per game, and it has been Dorofeyev leading the way. He ranks third among all skaters in goals per 60, and half of his goals have come at even strength thus far. Plus, he plays with the first power play unit, which is littered with playmakers that should give Dorofeyev high-quality chances.
I don’t necessarily love the value here at -105, but it’s sort of hard to gauge this Avalanche team without Cale Makar. MacKinnon didn’t score a goal in Game 1, but he scored in all five games of the second round against the Wild and is tied for the third-most goals among all skaters this postseason. Carter Hart stood tall in net for Vegas in Game 1, but he is certainly gettable, and I’d expect a more aggressive offensive approach from Colorado tonight in Game 2. MacKinnon ranks third this postseason in xGoals per 60, 14th in goals per 60 and is tied for the fourth-most high-danger chances.
