Check out some of the best De’Aaron Fox player prop bets for Spurs vs. Thunder Game 6 in the NBA Playoffs’ Western Conference Finals.
Down 3-2 in the Western Conference Finals, the San Antonio Spurs are going to have to dig deep in order to keep their season alive. After missing the first two games of this series, De’Aaron Fox has been back in action but hasn’t been at his best. Can he find his form tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder to help extend the season?
Here are the top De’Aaron Fox prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Thursday’s Spurs vs. Thunder Game 6 in the Western Conference Finals.
The Spurs acquired De’Aaron Fox via blockbuster trade last season, though he wasn’t able to suit up much for them due to injury. Now in his first full campaign with San Antonio, the speedy guard is coming off a quality regular season in which he averaged 18.6 points, 6.2 assists and 3.8 rebounds a game. His 48.6% FG% was good for second best in his career, though a 33.2% 3P% left something to be desired. Still, he’s never been known as a shooter from deep and was a key part of his team’s surge to second in the conference.
The playoffs haven’t been as kind to him, though. His averages are down a tick to 17.4 points and 5.9 assists a game, shooting 44.5% overall and 31.3% from deep. With a 52.3% TS%, his efficiency has taken a hit of 5.5 percentage points compared to the regular season. On the bright side, he’s added 4.2 rebounds a game and has still played a key role.
Tonight, DraftKings Sportsbook lists Fox’s prop bet lines at O/U 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.5 three pointers. His combined PTS + REB + AST line comes in at 25.5.
In this series against the Thunder, Fox has played just three games after an ankle issue sidelined him for the first two. He’s produced just 12.0 points per game on a 38.1% FG% and 16.7% 3P%, but has made up for it with 7.0 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.7 steals.
There are two ways to play this. On one hand, bettors can target over 9.5 combined REB + AST for the star, which is one of the most popular player prop bets for tonight’s game. Fox has exceeded that line in all three games so far with 13.3 REB + AST per outing — he’s dished at least five dimes in all three games (eight, five, six) with four boards at minimum (four, 10, seven). Even more interesting is that he’s exceeded the line of 9.5 in five of his eight matchups against the Thunder this year dating back to the start of the regular season.
The other way, which I included in my SGP article for Game 6, was to fade Fox from deep. He’s shooting an abysmal 16.7% this series (though the sample size remains very small) and 31.3% from beyond the arc this postseason. He’s failed to make multiple threes in all three games he’s played this series, seven of his nine games since the start of round two, and nine of his 14 since the beginning of the playoffs. He’s never been a shooter and should struggle from distance against a tough perimeter defense.
