Ciaran Doyle gives his best anytime goalscorer bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Friday’s FIFA World Cup slate.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup continues on Friday as all teams from Groups C and D will be in action.
The first game of the day is in Group D, as the United States hosts Australia. Then, Scotland will face Morocco in Group C. From there, we get the second Group C game of the day as Brazil takes on Haiti. Finally, Turkey will play Paraguay in Group D. It’s a four-game slate with plenty of opportunities for goals galore. Below are my two favorite anytime goalscorer picks for the day.
Could Folarin Balogun and the United States have gotten off to a better start to the World Cup? The Monaco striker scored twice in the 4-1 win over Paraguay, and was at the center of everything the U.S. did offensively. He recorded five shots, three on target and two of those found the back of the net. It could’ve easily been more. Can Balogun do it again against Australia? I don’t see why not. Even though they won 2-0 against Turkey in their opening match, the Aussies were fortunate the scoreline wasn’t the other way around. Turkey had more expected goals, 72% possession, more shots, more shots on goal and more big chances created. The reality is that the Turks simply couldn’t finish their chances, while Australia did. Turkey finished with 30 total shots, compared to just nine for the Aussies. I expect the United States to win this one, and don’t be surprised if it’s by a big margin once again. Balogun will once again be at the heart of what they do up top.
Drawing 1-1 against Morocco isn’t the ideal start for Brazil, but this is the game where they can release the handbrake and fully express themselves offensively. Morocco are a tough opponent, ranked sixth in the world. Haiti, however, is a whole other story, ranked at 85. They lost their opening match 1-0 to Scotland, and even though it was a good performance for them, Brazil and Vinicius Junior present some of the best attacking talent in the world. Vini scored the equalizer in that draw against Morocco and got his 2026 World Cup started with a goal. It was a great finish, as the opportunity was only worth .08 expected goals. His goal was his only shot of the game.
