Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 just brought over a massive character from the defunct Netflix universe. Sam Connon breaks down everything you need to know before Episode 7 of the latest MCU series hits Disney+.
After weeks of keeping fans waiting, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 finally delivered on a major promise. Anyone who has been following the street-level corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2015 can rest easy knowing more crossovers are on the way, to say nothing of the impending climax to Daredevil and Kingpin’s own narrative.
If you are dying to see what the MCU revival series has in store for the final stretch of Season 2, here is everything you need to know ahead of Episode 7:
Episode 7 will premiere on Disney+ at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 28. The episode, which is titled The Hateful Darkness, is expected to have a runtime between 50 and 60 minutes.
The second season will consist of eight episodes, compared to the nine-episode first season and the three 13-episode Netflix seasons from the previous era. The finale will drop on May 5, followed by The Punisher: One Last Kill special presentation on May 12.
(Warning: Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 6 ahead.)
The MCU proper and Netflix universe are more intertwined than ever, meaning the potential for future cameos just shot through the roof. Daredevil: Born Again has its own cast of characters to work through, though, so whatever additional Defenders do show up probably won’t get a ton of screen time. With that being said, here is a look at who could pop up in Season 2 Episode 7:
Jessica Jones finally entered the fold after Mr. Charles sent a crew to attack her house in the suburbs. She and Matt teamed up to get rid of the weapons shipment that Kingpin took from Mr. Charles, who is now aligning himself with the governor and in turn Fisk’s Chief of Staff, Sheila. With Vanessa dead and her memorial service turning into an anti-Kingpin revolt, Fisk has never been more alone. Even Buck telling Powell to take out Saunders and blame protesters seemingly backfired, with Cole North no longer all-in on the cause. Fisk’s fist fight with Matt may have ended in a bloody stalemate, but the mayor is as desperate as ever.
Karen, who wanted to kill Bullseye before Matt stopped her, just got arrested after losing her wig at the protest. Matt has a healed Bullseye and Jessica Jones on his side to try and spring her loose, like he did with White Tiger and Swordsman at the first Anti-Vigilante Task Force prison camp. Matt Murdock the lawyer might have to come back from his fake death if they want to make any sort of permanent progress, though.
There’s also the matter of Jessica’s daughter, Danielle. Since her appearance is pulled straight from the comics, it’s safe to say Luke Cage is the father and Danny Rand – a.k.a. Iron Fist – is her namesake. Set photos from Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 show that the Heroes for Hire are going to join the series eventually, but it remains to be seen if they will make appearances in Season 2. Based on the intel Jessica gave Matt on Mr. Charles, there’s a chance that Luke Cage and Iron Fist are working with the CIA or even Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
Here is the trailer for the second half of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which still features a handful of scenes we haven’t seen yet:
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Episode 7 will premiere on Tuesday, April 28, at 9 p.m. ET.
Season 2 is available to stream on Disney+. Season 1 is also on Disney+ if you are looking to catch up, in addition to the three seasons of the original Daredevil show that initially aired on Netflix.
Marvel Studios confirmed in September 2025 that production for Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 would start in early 2026. Filming began in March. The third season of the revival is expected to come out in March 2027.
