Guard

Stud

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder at Phoenix Suns ($9,900)

If paying up at the position, SGA is my guy. He’s the alpha of the Thunder offense and literally stuffs the stat sheet on a nightly basis. With Jalen Williams out, he will have to shoulder more of the offensive load. Phoenix is now at home after two games in OKC, so I expect them to play spirited ball in front of the home court. That in turn would force SGA to respond in due kind. In the first two games of the series, SGA put up 44.5 and 58.2 FPTS, but only played 29 minutes in the first one due to blowout.

Other Options: Cade Cunningham ($10,200), Jamal Murray ($9,000), Anthony Edwards ($8,700), CJ McCollum ($6,900), Jalen Suggs ($6,900),

Value

Ajay Mitchell, Oklahoma City Thunder at Phoenix Suns ($4,700)

With Williams out, both Mitchell and Cason Wallace should see an increase in playing time. Who starts and gets more run remains to be seen, but I’m siding with Mitchell regardless. Wallace has flashed his all-around game at times this season, but more often than not, he will slot into the 3-and-D role. Mitchell, on the other hand, is more of a do-things-with-the-ball-in-his-hands type of player. He could alleviate some of the burden on SGA’s shoulders due to his ability to get into the paint and break down defenses.

Other Options: Donte DiVincenzo ($5,200), Ayo Dosunmu ($4,800), Cason Wallace ($4,400), Bruce Brown ($3,700)

Forward

Stud

Jalen Johnson, Atlanta Hawks vs. New York Knicks ($9,100)

Johnson was bottled up in the first two games of the series, dishing out only six dimes total and racking up only one steal. He finished with 32 and 37.2 FPTS. When he returned to Atlanta, Johnson did Johnson things, finishing with 24 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, two steals and a block. He was second in the league for triple-doubles, and he likely finishes in that area once again for this one. The home crowd will be boisterous but the Knicks will likely respond with fervor, so Johnson’s all-around game should be on display in what should be a hotly contested affair.

Other Options: Karl-Anthony Towns ($8,600), Julius Randle ($7,200)

Value

Jonathan Kuminga, Atlanta Hawks vs. New York Knicks ($5,100)

After being a bit player in Game 1, Kuminga has been an integral part of the rotation. His defense on Towns has been good while his exploits on offense have been infectious. Kuminga is getting out in transition, utilizing his athleticism while crashing the boards. He’s put up 31.5 and 30.5 FPTS in the last two games.

Other Options: Dyson Daniels ($6,000), OG Anunoby ($6,000), Tobias Harris ($5,900), Jaden McDaniels ($5,800), Dillon Brooks ($5,800), Ayo Dosunmu ($4,800)

Center

Stud

Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets at Minnesota Timberwolves ($12,600)

Jokic hasn’t put up a “had-to-have-it” score yet in this series, finishing with 62.8, 57.2 and 54.8 FPTS. IDC. IDC! He has the highest floor/ceiling combo in the game and is always in play to put up a ridiculous stat line. I ride or die with Jokic as long as roster construction allows it.

Other Options: Karl-Anthony Towns ($8,600)

Value

Rudy Gobert, Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Denver Nuggets ($6,000)

Gobert is a low-usage player on offense but he is instrumental on defense, protecting the rim and cleaning the glass. And the matchup with Jokic means that he’s going to be on the floor over 35 minutes. In Game 2, Gobert only played 28 minutes due to foul trouble and finished with 15.2 FPTS. In the other two contests, Gobert played 38 and 36 minutes, putting up 34.5 and 37 FPTS.

Other Options: Isaiah Hartenstein ($5,500)
