Formula 1 Betting: 2026 Canadian Grand Prix opening odds,...
Keagan Smith · 2026-05-19 · via DraftKings Network

The 2026 Canadian Grand Prix is this weekend! Here are the details you need to know with opening odds and the full field for the latest Formula 1 event.

By the time the grid sputters to life and drivers start their engines over the next few days for the latest Formula 1 race on the calendar, it’ll have been three weeks since the season’s last event. However, the action is set to get underway this weekend as the Canadian Grand Prix takes place in Montreal, the fifth race of the 2026 F1 campaign.

As the North American leg of the season continues, fans on the continent will be glad to see the schedule. The race itself takes place at 4 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 24. Here, we’ll dive in for a look at the odds and lines leaderboard for the Canadian Grand Prix courtesy of F1 betting markets on DraftKings Sportsbook.

2026 Canadian Grand Prix odds, field

The Canadian Grand Prix has taken place since 1961, becoming a Formula 1 event in 1967. In 1978, it was held at Montreal’s Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for the first time, where it has taken place annually ever since. The circuit measures in at 4.361 km and drivers will take 70 laps in total. Last year, George Russell took pole position and the top of the podium.

In the most recent grand prix back in Miami three weeks ago, Mercedes took the top spot thanks to Kimi Antonelli’s third win of the young season. He’s finished no worse than second in each race so far, which is why it’s no surprise to see him listed alongside teammate George Russell at the top of DraftKings’ Sportsbook’s odds leaderboard. The pair are identical in terms of value at +185 to win outright and -360 for podium position. Russell finished fourth in each of the last two events following a win in the season opener and a runner-up finish in week two, so a podium result may not be guaranteed for him despite early season narratives.

The gap between Mercedes and the field does appear to be closing, slowly but surely. McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri finished second and third in Miami, with the latter coming off a second-place finish of his own back in Japan. Norris enters at +350 to win outright and -150 to end on the podium in Canada; Piastri sits fifth on the board at a split of +1200 and +115.

Sandwiched between the pair is Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen, who’s stayed busy over the last couple of weeks. He just competed at Nurburging 24 Hours this past week and notably led the race prior to car issues resulting in the team bowing out of that competition. While Red Bull Racing has certainly underperformed thus far in F1 this year, Verstappen did notch his best finish of the season back in Miami at fifth place and the team’s continued tweaks to the cars could launch the star back towards the top of the field. His experience at the Circuit Gilles-Villenueve likely lends him plenty of credit after three-peating at this venue between 2022-2024 — Verstapen holds +700 odds to win and +100 odds for the podium.

Meanwhile, Ferrari have fallen from the upper end of the pack in odds behind Mercedes through the early weeks. Amidst stiffer competition with McLaren having worked through car troubles, the drivers in racing red are now in the lower segment of drivers who could conceivably win the Canadian Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton finished sixth in Miami while Charles Leclerc fell all the way to eighth. The former comes in at +2800 odds of an outright win with +650 odds for a podium result. The latter enters Canada with +2000 odds to win and +500 odds to finish in the top three.

The remainder of the field comes in at much longer odds to win the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix, holding a minimum of +5500 odds to record a podium result. It includes the following racers, with the figures next to their names indicating odds of a top-10 finish rather than a win or podium appearance:

  • Isack Hadjar (-190)
  • Pierre Gasly (-165)
  • Franco Colapinto (-120)
  • Carlos Sainz (+185)
  • Arvid Lindblad (+225)
  • Alexander Albon (+185)
  • Oliver Bearman (-105)
  • Nico Hulkenberg (+400)
  • Liam Lawson (+150)
  • Gabriel Bortoleto (+400)
  • Esteban Ocon (+300)
  • Valtteri Bottas (+5000)
  • Sergio Perez (+5000)
  • Lance Stroll (+5500)
  • Fernando Alonso (+5500)
