Blake Krass breaks down the odds on which players could be the leading goalscorer for England at the 2026 World Cup.
The 2026 World Cup marks a new era for the England Three Lions. After back-to-back World Cups led by Gareth Southgate, Thomas Tuchel will be managing England for this North American-based World Cup. While there is new leadership for the international team, it could be one of the last chances at a major trophy for England’s greatest ever goalscorer, Harry Kane.
This is a look at the odds of who will be England’s top goalscorer at the FIFA World Cup.
You can bet on who will be the top goalscorer for England at the 2026 World Cup on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Harry Kane is the greatest goalscorer in English football history. Kane’s 78 goals for the Three Lions dwarf the second-place tally of 53, owned by Wayne Rooney. Kane is by far the most prolific goalscorer to ever wear the England shirt, and he is also the captain of the national team. With a new manager at the helm after a decade with Gareth Southgate in charge, there will be even more of a burden on Kane’s shoulders to set the right example for his younger teammates.
All Harry Kane does is score goals. At 32 years old, he is having the best season of his career with 55 goals in all competitions for Bayern Munich. He is in impeccable form heading into the World Cup and it’s hard to imagine anyone else topping the goal-scoring list for England. The Three Lions should comfortably make it through the group stage at this tournament and have a floor of being a quarter-finals team. If Kane plays in five or six games, that gives him ample time to score a few goals.
Outside of Kane, Bukayo Saka, Jude Bellingham and Cole Palmer have the best odds to be the team’s leading goalscorer. Neither of Saka or Palmer have had great Premier League campaigns. Saka has just seven goals in 29 matches, while Palmer has nine goals in 24 matches for Chelsea. Both players are talented enough to flip the switch and score a couple of goals at the World Cup. However, Kane is in exquisite form, has the most experience at the international level, and will be the penalty taker for England. All of those factors make it tough to consider anyone else.
Even at odds of -230, it’s worth a bet on Kane. However, if you want to look further down the odds board, I would jump that top group of Saka, Palmer and Bellingham. My next-favorite bet would be on Marcus Rashford at +1600. Rashford was England’s joint-top goalscorer at the 2022 World Cup, in what was a down tournament for Kane. Rashford has had a solid season at Barcelona. He scored five goals in the Champions League and seven goals in La Liga for the Spanish side. As of writing this, he has scored a goal in three of his past five La Liga matches. Rashford has a lot of experience in these international tournaments and could finally be ready for his breakout tournament playing on the left wing.
